Are We Week 17 Flex Candidates?

well since we are going there...

The noun precedence pertains to ranking or status in order of importance or urgency.

Examples:

  • The medics treated them in order of precedence according to their
    injuries. bultick.gif
  • The rules that govern the precedence of members of the Royal Family are complex. bultick.gif

Precedent

The noun precedent means an example from the past that provides evidence for an argument. It is most commonly used in legal circles and, more specifically, can be described as a previously decided case that guides the decision of a future case.

Examples:

  • Having discovered a similar case in the past, the prosecution team used this precedent to support their argument. bultick.gif
  • There is precedent with last year's Smith versus Jones case. bultick.gif

If the Carolina Panthers are going for the 16-0 Perfect season, do they flex us to prime time? When the Patriots played the Giants in week 17 on NFL Network they made a special exception and aired the game over Network Television. A precedence has been set for making a big deal out of this milestone.

Our opponent, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are surging. They are currently on 6 wins with the following opponents:

Saints @ Home

Rams Away

Bears @ Home

It's possible they could run the table and be playing for a 10 win season and Wild Card spot.

The other games will be enticing. Card & Seahawks, Packers & Viking, and of course any NFC East Championship game always gets flexed.

Tickets for that Buccaneers game are absurdly high on NFL Ticket Exchange right now. Lower Bowl Seats start over $300. I would personally love to throw a party in Charlotte that Sunday night. We can invite Rodney to step out of his Ivory tower in NYC and see whats up.

I think that there is zero chance if the NFC East ends up being decided in week 17. We're a lock, and the Bucs don't draw a crowd.

I cant remember the panthers losing a flexed game time wise. mainly because we havnt had many to lose i suppose. that is changing rapidly i suspect!

keep pounding!

We got blew out at new orleans after being flexed to snf in 2013.  To my knowledge, that is the only one.  I dont recall any other instances of us being flexed to snf though.  Obviously, we have been moved to the late afternoon game some.

i think i worded my post poorly. I cant remember us losing a primetime game or national 4pm game because of another game being flexed in.

    • Canales has never been part of big YAC offenses in the NFL.  That’s not his tree.  Not in Seattle, Tampa or here.  Every O he has been associated with basically has been bottom half of the league in YAC.  That’s what Bryce needs to happen though  2 very different things
    • Well, his job is to win and make Bryce better and other stuff too but he has to have a certain amount of buy in to make that work. If it is real or he has to talk himself into believing it, as coach and leader and in the context of the present time with the whole team needing to believe, who knows? You lie if you have to.  I think you have have to separate that Canales from the detached offseason evaluation Canales. It is possible that you are correct and he is sold on Bryce. It is also possible that he isn’t, but cannot confess.
    • Ah yes, the old "accuse your opponent of what you're actually trying to do" tactic. Always amusing 😄 You wanna drop out? No problem, but you should probably do so by just admitting the conversation is over your head.  Though truth be told, even if you don't wanna admit it, I'm pretty sure anyone reading this, watching you dodge the questions and just cut and paste the same recycled answers over and over again can probably already see that 😆
