I can already feel the eyes rolling as huddlers click into this thread already waiving their pitchforks and pseudo banhammers with "wtf is this stupid poo".

Hear me out though. I thought to myself after the 2011 season that we had something very special in Cam. I'm sure my feelings were similar to many of yours. Cam came off what could be debated as the most prolific rookie year of any player in modern history of the NFL. Also, as many of you, I was excited to see Cam land at #40 in the list of the Top 100. I watched and re-watched this many times prior to the beginning of the new season. However, I hadn't thought much about it at the time, but the comments from Steve Smith in Cam's highlight really hit me as I reminisce about his prophetic words that I'm sure a lot of you - like me - took tongue in cheek. What Steve said in his interview really stuck with me over the course of watching Cam.

I just wanted to post this, and I know many of you have saw this before. I just wanted to get your perspective on how you feel about his interview for Cam now that we can retrospectively look back on it with some substance.

Oh and the video just in-case some rock dweller hasn't saw it. @ 2:47s is where Steve starts talking.

Anyways, if this has been posted or whatnot. If it's as shitty as a PU thread. Feel free to temp ban me. I'll serve my vacation like a man.

I'd imagine that Smitty thinks all kinds of stuff when watching us play.

Most of all, I'm sure he can't believe that the team is experiencing so much success after he's gone. I bet that must really hurt.

Not saying that to be a prick either, I wish he was apart of this more than anything. If there's anybody that deserves this, it's him imo

It's starting to become painfully obvious that the need to move Steve Smith was to open up the cap and give Cam the locker room. I don't think Steve and Cam ever had any confrontations.... it just seems like Steve Smith got the Shaq end of the Kobe stick.

He was right with everything he said.  One thing I didn't agree with was the guy that said Cam "has all the throws".  He didn't then and doesn't now.  He still struggles with those touch passes (as evidenced by the throw to Olsen yesterday on 4th down).  He's gotten better at them but I think he still has room for improvement, which is great when you think about how good he already is.

He had to throw on the run with 3 defenders barreling down on him, I would say under the circumstances it was a good enough pass.

It was good enough because it was Olsen catching it.  If that had been any other receiver on our team, we're probably talking about a loss today.  This offense doesn't call for a lot of touch passes anyway, but every now and then we might need them.

That's what makes good teams elite, they have playmakers who can bail out their QB's sometimes under less than ideal circumstances.

I'm not trying to say we're not good, or that Cam isn't good.  Simply that Cam still has things he can work on.  Just my opinion.

    • This offense is like watching a slow bleed out when you think a merciful death has finally ended the suffering only to see a pinky flinch or hear a faint gasp of air creep from the lungs and through the dried out walls of a flaked throat, making you feel a sliver of hope and obligation to stay with the moribund patient on life support until it passes beyond the void and the undertaker begins his duties--usually around week 6.
    • https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/dont-hold-your-breath-gronkowski-says-he-approaches-seam-routes-with-no-fear/381799/?amp=1   Yeah, here is Brady, Gronk and the prime Patriots discussing the dangers and risk TE/slots face with seam routes.   you way too smart to be defending some of this bro  How did Renfrow get the rib injury and why wasn’t that classified a drop.  Go check the game day thread.  Entire board could ID that obvious one in real time.
    • Hospital balls are hospital balls.  I mean, someone just posted a NFL QB (who is pro Bryce) breaking down that exact throw where Bryce threw him into the S hit.  It was a hospital ball….and now Renfow got the rib injury to go along with it.   the Bryce defending is just on a complete different planet at this point.
