Should Jake still have that "C" on his jersey?

Should Jake still be a captain? I know being a captain is about more than just your play, but at some point should the team strip him of his captain status if he continues to play this way?

Right now I wouldn't do it, it would be one more blow to his confidence which already is pretty fragile.... but if he gets benched, should the team take away his captain status?

Considering the players decide on team captains, no, I don't think they should take away Delhomme's captain patch, which wasn't give to him because of his all-pro playing ability in the first place. Jake's still a leader of this team -- to take away one of his best traits would be to ruin this season, in my opinion. Even if Moore or some other quarterback gets the nod, Jake should still remain a captain.

I agree to a certain extent, but how can you be a leader when you're playing as bad as Jake has lately?

Jake is a stand-up guy, so I wouldn't be suprised if he stepped down as a team captain long before anyone has to take it away from him.

I see your point, but what would stripping Jake of the captain badge do for the team? I guess you could make the argument that it would show the front office expects a higher level of play out of captains, but I have to think it would do much more harm than good.

I guess you could argue that Jake can show leadership as a captain by how he deals with this adversity and puts the team before himself.
