Man, you all sound like a bunch of scared pansies. The Cardinals have a great record (still not as good as the Panthers), but they haven't dominated a grueling schedule either. They've beaten ONE really good team (CIN by a field goal) and THREE fairly good teams (SEA, GB, and MIN). They also have a blowout of PHI. However, as referenced above, they have lost more games than CAR.

The Cardinals are not the '85 Bears. They are not the mid-90's Packers. They're not the early 2000's Patriots. They're a really good team who will have to beat a really good team if/when they play the Panthers.

Terrible argument made in Panthers defense considering it's the same argument made against the Panthers all year. Until you can understand match ups, going back and glancing over scores won't get you far.

The crux of my argument is not "they have not beaten anyone." My point is simply meant to show that the Cardinals have not been so dominate as to put them in a class of "they are going to beat the Panthers like a drum." I get that their style of offense can exploit the way the Panthers defense has been playing. I get their defense plays fast and aggressive. I am simply saying, those facts alone, do not make them world beaters, and their performances across the season show that. Again, my argument is about domination, not who have they beat. Those two arguments are different.

Just don't feel like we match up well with them.

They get to the QB, they do surrender some points; but we aren't winning a shootout with them if it even comes to that. We need to slow the game down, pound the ball, hope Stewart is healthy and really use Stewart, Cam, and Tolbert to pound them. Use the run to set up the pass off play action stuff and pick our spots with some deep shots. Their linebackers should have trouble with Olsen, so he'll need to be the key in the passing game. Hopefully the game takes shape where Newton only has to throw the ball 25-30 times, because if it's more than that I see us losing a shootout to them. I don't think we will beat them. They are to me; are the best team in the NFC, not by a huge margin but most personnel people would tell you they're better almost everywhere. And I like Arians better in a tight game; he's the true riverboat. Ron as much as I like him NOW will get tight in a tight big game and Arians coaches like he has absolutely nothing to lose and like he never belonged in the big spot anyways.

Rivera has let Cam evolve against a soft schedule but in a huge game like this he will handcuff us in crucial spots. Scared to death of AZ.

Most people wouldn't have thought we'd win a shootout with Drew Brees (a much superior QB to Palmer) but we did.

It helps that the Saints defense exists only in our imaginations rather than on the field, getting into a shootout with Palmer is not something I would have much confidence in. Funnily enough our best hope is for similar weather than when we played them in the play offs last season, heavy rain and mist. As good as their RBs have been, Cam/Stewart/CAP would win us any ground game

Cardinals fan here. Hope I can join in the conversation. I joined up because i'm convinced our two teams will meet up in the NFC championship game.   I even took the days off from work and bought a plane ticket to Charlotte already.

I read every post on this topic and I have to say I agree if you can get a pass rush on Palmer he can sometimes tend to get a bit flustered and make bad decisions or even hold the ball and take the sack when he shouldn't.

I've watched every Cardinals game this year and a lot of the panthers games and the thing that worries me the most going up against you is Cam Newton. Mobile QB's can hurt us because of how aggressive our defense can be sometimes.  containing Newton will be key for us.

I personally feel like the Cardinals are the better team ( I am biased however) but the panthers will definitely be our hardest match up period.

a little insight on our two losses. the Steelers game we played like garbage. was definitely not a good day for my team.  The rams game ugh. they played well but.... ( and I don't say this hardly ever because i hate the excuse) but the refs screwed us and we had a few mental errors we couldn't overcome.

it honestly blows my mind how weak the fan support for the Cardinals is here in AZ.  Ive been to 6 Panthers/Cardinals games in AZ and even during our bad seasons we had a pretty good turnout of Panthers fans. I also got free tickets to a Lions/Cardinals game a few years ago and it was a legit 60-40 split in fan support. The amount of Packers fans I saw on TV on Sunday was more than any away team Ive ever seen. Its really sad because they have arguably the nicest stadium in the league and the team has been really successful the last 5 or 6 years. They were non-existent and then appeared for a little bit when Warner took them too the Super Bowl but then when the Niners and Seahawks got good those teams took over the state. Even this year they havent had much of a buzz. That goes for all the pro sports teams too. In my unbiased opinion the hottest ticket in AZ is a U of Arizona basketball game

Awesome.  Great to have you posting here.  Eagerly looking forward to a possible CAR-AZ NFCCG, and hoping both our teams will be at full strength, playing our best.  Would make for an epic game.

Why would you want that I hope we destroy them and every advantage possible it's not about great games it's about winning....

That said with the QBs in the afc and the state of the Patriots I think this years NFCC game will be the real Super Bowl.

Well personally, I'm greedy.  Want BOTH a great game and the Win, and I think it's possible to have both.  The greatness of the opponent enhances the greatness of the win.

Agree with you that the NFCCG is looking like the real Super Bowl.  Just hope that playing and winning that game won't wear us down too much for the Super Bowl!
