just curious to see how many people have decided that this season is a lost cause.

if you don't mind also say what you think the record is going to be at the end of the year.

if you believe the team still has a chance, this thread isn't for you.

it's just for those who have given up.

My position hasn't changed: 9-7, possibly a wildcard. I'm still very much with this team.

I'm not giving up on Delhomme yet, either. But if he can't get it together after Atlanta or Dallas, he needs to be benched for the season. I hope he comes back with a vengeance last week and surprises us all.

Edit: I don't read well at 1:00 a.m. Sorry.

I'd just like to ask, what are people trying to accomplish by coming on the forums and spouting all this 0-16 garbage? One game and they're in death throes, calling for the heads of our management and coaching.

Sure, our QB play is god awful, and taking the entire game into perspective, we sure as hell don't look playoff bound, but is it really time to have a complete turnover in coaching and management?

I'd ask people to calm down and stop posting ridiculously stupid threads and comments but that's a lost cause. I'm just kind of embarrassed at the apparent stupidity and fickle nature of our fan base.

Here's hoping we win some games so that these people shut up.

your optimism has no place in this thread. there is another thread for those who don't think that the season is shot yet. if you think they have a chance, you post in that one.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
