Cam Just Said Coaches Were Conservative

I honestly think that this is it. The plan we called.. conservative as it was... was based upon the fact that we were up 31 points heading into 30mins of football with the receiving corps we have. With Olsen out a bit I think our blanket went with him.. we ran the ball (again, yes, conservatively) but knew that with our D that 31 points was too much for Seattle to overcome.

End of story really. As much as I hate that we did it it's not the end of the world and we have a home game again against the Cards to advance to the SB.

Simple as that.

I cant justify it because they knew we were running every first down and throughout the game they were leaving the intermediate routes open all game.  We just kept running it straight into pileups instead.

Every Panther knew that. He was saying what we already knew. We have got to stop this conservative bullsh*t ON BOTH SIDES when we get up.

BUT, we fuggin won so hard to complain about it.

This is the most ridiculous attitude anyone can have about anything ever in life.

Well, I'm not the one who died during Russian roulette, so how could playing be a bad idea?

Well, I didn't get stopped by the cops when I drove home wasted, so how could doing that be a problem?

I didn't die when I did this, so how can anyone say it was stupid?

Well, we won, so how can it matter that we pulled Foxball out of the playbook and decided to just barely hold on?

Winning the game doesn't change the fact that you played like poo in the 2nd half because you decided to make the clock running out the main factor in your 2nd half adjustments.

At half time Strahan said, "We once won 41-0, but the key was we didn't take our foot off the pedal."

You knew the Panthers were going to do just that. KNEW IT. I wanted to be proven wrong, and I wasn't. That's what pisses me off more than anything. Rivera has learned NOTHING.

Making a conscious decision to take the ball OUT of the NFL MVPs hands is "showing confidence" in him.

One helluva odd way to do it.

Why chance getting baited by a great D? Let us allow Russell Wilson to play for the Panthers and take exactly what our D gives him! He literally never gave his team a chance!

Its called controlling the game and imposing our will. We gave Wilson enough to feel effective but reality is that he never had a chance. He just helped us by burning the clock  while we spent the entire 2nd half minimizing risk! It sealed the deal and we were never in danger, no matter how the score changed

i don't think it's ron who is playing conservative, i think it's the coordinators

Yeah, Ron sounded pretty annoyed in his interview with WBT.  But he manned up and said "ultimately it's on me" and admitted they needed to do much better.

I'm not saying it isn't a problem. I'm saying today isn't the day to dwell on this sh*t.

You bring up some good points and I don't necessarily disagree.

However, we've all seen the Panther defense (no matter how good or bad they were at the time) blow leads in the 4th Qtr.

I think part of the problem is the Panthers offense IS conservative.   So opening it up to not be conservative is a hard approach to take when that isn't your game and it would play into the Seahawks defense's hands.  I think this issue is just a nature of our offense and isn't likely to change.
