Davis - Get to the ball with bad intentions

Remember that quote?  In Davis's first week as a Panther, he was asked in an interview about his tackling philosophy. His reply?  "Get to the ball with bad intentions".

I've never done a GIF, but would love for someone to put the clip of Davis's tackle on David Johnson last week on here.  That's when he blew right through the line and totally creamed Johnson for a  6-yard TFL.  The speed...the violence...just incredible!

If he wants to use his arm less, I can see him just trucking his target with all he has. Can you imagine a more violent Thomas Davis?  Kinda scary.

Can't wait to see you in the Super Bowl TD!  Looking forward to those bad intentions!

I like watching CJ... he goes from trying to get to the tackle to reacting to TDs hit and I can almost hear it.

Actually, I was talking about David Johnson, the Cards running back that TD blew up.  But, yeah, CJ's reaction was great, too.

I know I have been complaining about the wife watching the games with me lately. But this play got her good. They showed the replay from the endzone. I told her to watch #58. When he waxed Johnson. With a smile on her face, all she said was "Wow".

This from a gal that took years to finally get the idea that tackling was legal.

    • Curtis Samuel for me. Felt like he had so much untapped potential. Also Shi Smith, felt like he had potential too
    • Shaq wouldve read this post but it ran right by him.
    • I honestly thought he would not make it this far, but he's a pure pro that's remained in the top half of RTs. If panthers agree that's worth 20,000,000 why not? It is full boat with the Icky, Walker, Motown, and Freelings...... The current best I see- Freelings is the LT of now and future. Motown stays another 5. Icky either moves to OG after Lewis or hunt is cut(but why?!?!). Walker is wildcard and he can not sit this season, so he's got to be traded at some point this season. LT has the same injuries as QBs in TC, but the main issue is the league put him at a 4 million value....... its a rough sell and panthers will have dead cap in any trade (around 2-3 mill). I think at the end, Icky walks... Dan is holding 4 of kind, in a game in which 16 Gms are wanting 1 of those. It mainly falls on freeling, if proves to the coaching staff he can play 17+ games.....You almost have to trade Walker or he'd be the largest cancer since "choosen" Anderson....
