Manziel threatens to kill himself and Girlfriend

I think after being given like 20 miles of rope, Johnny 8-ball has finally managed to hang himself.  The amount of instability displayed by this guy during this incident is amazing; how can he lead a team, when even self-mastery escapes him?  Thanks for the lulz, Johnny.

When Johnny Manziel was investigated for an altercation with his ex-girlfriend last week, part of the police report said Manziel's ex-girlfriend was concerned about his well being, but the initial report never explained why.

More troubling details have emerged, including an accusation that Manziel hit his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley, dragged her by her hair and threatened to kill her and himself. Crowley said Manziel told her "shut up or I'll kill us both," WFAA reported. WFAA cited anonymous sources, who shared details of Crowley's affidavit, in its story.

The Houston Chronicle, citing the police report, said Crowley told police Manziel struck her "several times" and appeared to be "on some kind of drugs." The Chronicle's story said the alleged assault happened in Manziel's hotel room in Dallas, and that Crowley claimed Manziel struck her more times as he drove her home, though the police report says Crowley "again was somewhat vague on the details of the assault." WFAA said that Manziel threatened Crowley more at her apartment, Crowley pulled out a knife and Manziel fled.

WFAA added that Crowley "is afraid for her safety and has drafted an order of protection to be presented to a Tarrant County district court judge." TMZ published audio of a 911 call from Crowley's neighbor, who said Crowley told her Manziel "beat her up." The neighbor says on the 911 call that she heard Crowley screaming. The neighbor on the 911 call said Crowley didn't want her to call 911.

TMZ reported it talked to Manziel about the incident, and the Cleveland Browns quarterback said, "It didn't happen." When asked about the part of the report that he threatened to kill himself, Manziel told TMZ, "I'm completely stable. I'm safe and secure."

Crowley and Manziel had another incident last October. Manziel was pulled over. Crowley said Manziel pushed her head into a window. Manziel denied that, was never charged, and Crowley put out a statement on her Instagram account saying it was just an argument and "we are all good."

In the incident last week, WFAA said Manziel forced Crowley into a car, hit her and dragged her by her hair.

The Browns came out with a strongly worded statement earlier this week that indicated the team will cut him. Many reports said the Browns will release Manziel, a 2014 first-round pick, on March 9, the first day of the league year. Despite Manziel's denials about hitting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to "kill us both," the latest report of the details from last week's incident won't help him find an NFL job elsewhere.

It was in Dallas, so I assumed he was there for a Cowboy-organized, scheduled workout. I guess I assumed wrong...

Pretty sure Sanders is just projecting his own lack of success in finding a quality woman.  It's a skill that most NFL players do not have; if your only requirement for a woman is that she looks nice on your arm, you're setting yourself up for failure.  Sanders let his personal frustrations take over when he made those comments.

From a pure football standpoint, I thought Manziel had a chance to possibly make a splash in the NFL, but who knew he was this big of a train wreck off the field?

Unbelievable that he still went in the 1st round with all of the background research most teams do on these guys.  LOL @ the Browns.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
