Positions we need to upgrade

We got our asses handed to us last night by a team without an offense. Our defense was fairly solid, our special teams were below average and our offense was mediocre.   So where do we go from here ?  What positions do you think G Man needs to upgrade the most in order to get us back to the big game in 2017 and win it ?  And do you still have faith in Shula ball and Riveras preparation of the team ?

Need to continue to revamp special teams. Get  rookies lIke Tyler Lockett and David Johnson, those two guys were able to make impact plays on special teams and later in the season were crucial for their offenses. I am tired of seeing Joe Webb and Fozzy run out of the endzone and get stoned on the 18-20 yard line. The blocking and tackling on special teams is abysmal. Next, youth in the secondary and finally an upgrade for Mike Remmers.

We have Daryl Williams and Tre Boston as sorta heir apparents at OT and S, respectively. Would not mind picking up Eric Weddle though...

DE needs to be looked at as #1 ...Jason Pierre Paul is a good option if his hand properly heals...a lot of other good DEs are hitting FA as well

    • If Ron had been given Bryce as his QB what happens though?  And Ron had an excellent track record as DC and had run the 34 and the 43 both successfully in the league. He had some really good defenses.  Add in, how did he do under Tepper with a damaged Cam? it isn’t really close to a fair comparison.  Ron wasn’t a great HC either he was a guy that knew defense and had a great QB dumped in his lap.    As far as some of the other stuff in the thread I was hot about him not being suave with Rico but he has taken action, and people have pointed out decent reasons for being 2 games slow to make the change. And we won one of them.    I don’t know I have cooled off since Sunday and I wasn’t moved straight to fire him level of dissatisfaction, just decidedly unhappy with him.    I don’t really have a strong opinion either way but do think he was given a no win situation with Bryce. And he hasn’t done horribly with that aspect of it, given the unreasonable expectations of the assignment. It is the NFL version of a suicide mission.
    • I get wanting to defend Canalas but at the end of the day, I see coaches every season take over a trash team and turn them into something (see Mike Vrabel this season, Quinn last year etc). I still don’t know what the hell our identity is, that at a minimum should not even be questioned, you should be able to see his footprint on some area of the team.
    • Packers are probably the best overall team we will have faced so far this season.  Going to be tough sledding in Green Bay. Like last week the best chance we have is to establish a running game shortened the game and keep Green Bay offense on the sideline.  Defense has to show up, they got embarrassed by the Bills if they have another poor performance it will be 2nd blowout in a week.
