The one thing that worries me about next season is the travel.  That has to wear on you.

No worries mate.  We have a winning record all time on the west coast (i.e. a better record there than we do as a franchise as a whole!).  We started in the NFC West.  We had big years in 2008 and 2013 playing west foes.  And playing San Fran and San Diego at home can have the inverse effect for them-on paper providing the closest thing to a bye week as an opponent can 7+ months away.

Not worried about the individual teams per se as much as the travel itself.  It takes it toll in any sport and should Seattle (or Arizona) get home field then that would be a fifth trip out west.  I believe we are up for it, but I would honestly have slightly tougher opponents closer to home.

^ Fwiw at this point, neither scare me AT ALL in overtaking us for HFA.  There are many months to dissect everything in more detail, but in Seattle's case they only have 25 players whose contracts just ended.  They will not only lose a ton but there is no logical way their interior lines will be anything less than a sieve without DRASTICALLY affecting another part of their team.

It would not shock me if the Rams (who went 3-1 against the Hawks and Cards) win that division in their return to LA.

It's also worth noting that they have to play the AFC East, NFC South, (and in Seattle's case another trip to Lambeau to boot) meaning a lot of east coast, early start trips for those guys.

I hope the Denver game is early in the season. My sisters boyfriend is a Broncos season ticket holder and he's giving me 2 of his tickets for that game so I don't want to be there when it's cold.

I'd prefer later in the year so I can go early for some skiing. (AKA - sitting in the ski lodge looking cute while having cocktails :)  )

Early word is that it's down to Patriots at Broncos or Panthers at Broncos for opening night. Not once in the past five years, though, has CBS or FOX given up their rights to either of their two Super Bowl champion broadcasts. So, I'll be surprised if we open on Thursday night. Pleasantly surprised, though.

...

SUPER BOWL REMATCH?: While a Super Bowl 50 rematch between the Panthers and Broncos should be a no-brainer to kick off the 2016-17 NFL season on NBC, the NFL also is considering staging an AFC championship rematch between the Patriots and Broncos to open the season.

Sources said the Super Bowl rematch is more likely, as CBS likely will fight harder to keep the marquee Patriots-Broncos game than Fox will for a Panthers-Broncos rematch that does not have Manning. Since 2012, the league has put the highly rated Patriots-Broncos game on “Sunday Night Football” every other year. NBC carried it last year.

^ THAT, my friends, would be AWESOME news.

1) early "revenge", statement, national TV, etc.

2) getting God knows who in their first game under center for Denver at QB

3) less likely at least one of our other NFC road games will be in "night" hostile road environments

4) no freezing cold games

5) having an extra few days to get ready for our week 2 game

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
