Questioning Jakes arm still??

Pantherman

Recommended Posts

We all know that Jake took us to 2 NFC title games and won one of them to lead us to the SB on top of it. Then in 2007 Jake came out red hot in the first 2 games with 8tds and 1 int before he came up hurting. That was a great start. But I have the feeling that Jake arm is still not doing fine at this point even after 2 years of having the surgry on his elbow. It seems that his arm power is not all there and all of us knows his accurcy has gotten worse for some odd reason. Before his injury he was throwing lasers to steve smith. But after the injury his accurcy got a lot worse and his throwing power seemed to decreased. Are the panthers hiding something from the fans because of the hugh contract they gave Jake in the offseason. I don't know!! But I got a bad feeling Jake has not and most likly will never fully recover from the elbow surgry. I am not questioning his leadership and the ability to lead this team. But I am questioning his arm in wheather it has healed properly and has it fully healed are not. Also questioning to wheather this injury has caused Jake to not be able to throw the way he use to. We will never know because no personal are player of the team will ever say anything if there was something wrong with his arm. But I do hope the best for Jake for the rest of the season.

I really don't think that the Panther's would extend Jake's contract if they knew there was a problem with his arm. Come on. He did well in preseason, give him his first game jitters and let him play another game. If he does bad in that game, with the OLine playing well then you can start talking.

But the question is does his arm still have the same strength and accurcy that it did before the injury. To me it seems his accurcy is worse then it was before the injury. It seemed during the game sunday when he throw a long ball to smith it was short. I just question wheather his arm is not able to throw the way it use to before he got hurt. In the preseason he didn't have one TD and his throwing didn't look all that good.

He looked fine in the preseason, so I really dont know what that meltdown was all about. Its not a physical thing, he just seems to snowball badly when something goes wrong. Its something in his head....maybe the team needs to call in a sports psychologist.

legitimate questions and a fair perspective on Jake. There definitely was change for the worse that was somewhat masked by our improved running game. However, Smith was third in the league in receiving yards even though he missed two games. The whole Jake situation is incredibly difficult to predict but he deserves the benefit of the doubt and our support

I think the long bombs need to stop for a few games. I know you need to do it the stretch the field, but he needs confidence more than anything right now. So if short passes 5-25 yard passes will do it then do that. Of course run run run...

I was saying that the whole game. They were blitzing and the only game plan they could come up with is "tell Jake to stand back there and throw bombs". They should of been running screens (I know they screwed one of them up) and short passes to TEs and RBs.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
