Next Call of Duty includes CoD 4 remaster but

You have to buy the $89 or higher versions to get it.  WTF?

I love CoD4, my favorite game maybe ever, definitely my favorite FPS.  I thought it was mostly perfect.  I'd easily pay $30-40 for a remastered edition with servers that are kept up.  But no, Activision wants to force us into buying their new game, which, I do not want.  In fact, I bet most people that loved CoD4 really don't even care for the new ones.   I hope the backlash changes their minds and they put this out there as a standalone purchase.

Then to make it worse, they only have 10 maps with it.  The game came with 16 and then 4 in a map pack.  Can't even get all the default maps?  I guess it'll come in DLC I'm sure.

Here's the thing.  Activision took a gamble three years ago when Infinite Warfare (god awful name) started development.  They thought everyone would fall it love with this exo suit bullshit.  They've now realized the general public is tired of it...it's not Call of Duty.  So, they decided to remaster COD4 and include it with Infinite; it's probably the only way they would sell Infinite.  A smart tactic on their part because if they had released COD4 by itself, it would have outsold Infinite...I'm sure of it.

I'm also willing to bet that they will include more COD4 maps in DLC along with Infinite DLC...that way you have to buy both.  I'm really hoping they've realized that people are upset and this is the last of the futuristic crap.  I'm not saying we don't need it every couple of years to keep things fresh, but there are plenty of other aspects of past wars they could hit on and people would be happy.  At the very least, make a modern day war game without all the jumping.  Go back to the basics.

I'm psyched for the MW remaster. There is a strong possibility I buy Infinite, take the voucher for MW:R and then trade in Infinite.

Rumors are you'll need the Infinite disk in to play it.  But if not, I'll do just the same thing you are.

In which game stop cuts the trade in value to like 30 dollars on 80 dollar game.

There's no way they won't release it individually at some point. I'll just wait until then. I am psyched about it though and its a pretty light year for gaming, so I'll probably have to stave off some temptation.

Swung by GameStop today to ask when they think the title might get an individual release. He didn't know but pointed out that he doesn't think-and he was just speculating- that MWR may not even have multiplayer because then nobody would play IW. He tossed out the idea that maybe they will link the multiplayer between both games or such and have a classic mode or whatever, but more than likely not.

I always loved the MW trilogy campaigns anyways and still play through them every so often, but if they don't have multiplayer a lot of other people are gonna turn real fickle real fast.

That dude shouldn't be working at Gamestop then :)

There were more than 10 in the original weren't there? Bloc was awesome but everybody else always hated that map and skipped it.

Oh yea, there were definitely more than 10.  I count 17.  Like I mentioned earlier, they'll probably release a few more in DLC throughout the year.  If they go this route, we'll have to pay for them which sucks, but Activision has to get their money!

Looking at Reddit, a lot of people want Bloc back.  I loved that map.  Used to be able to go like 22-1 on that map with a rifle of some kind.

    • Today, we are all Kucci... I miss our feral Russian attack goalie!
    • That was a good segment. Watched every minute of it and would highly recommend it to all fans.
    • "So much of what the Panthers are going to do next week isn't dictated by their preference, but by what happens above them. That's another benefit of not getting locked into need. For instance, if you're thinking you want a receiver, seeing five or six of them go off the board and reacting by taking the sixth or seventh off your list instead of the first (or second or third) something else isn't necessarily wise." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-back-into-the-weeds-of-the-nfl-draft-bryce-young-charlotte-hornets-mock-draft This is what some don't seem to get, I don't care how many times it is said: You're NOT going to draft an inferior person at one position, just because that position is perceived as, or is in fact, a bigger need. That would basically nullify, or at least lessen, the reason why you set yourself up via free agency to be able to take the BPA/BAP on the board in the first place.  Yes, the process is complex, very much involved and ongoing, but the overall philosophy is not rocket science. You set yourself up in order not to be pigeonholed into taking a lower graded player at the expense of a higher graded one. This is why Morgan, Gantt and countless of others say the same thing. This is why it's just nonsensical to set yourself in a position where you don't have to, but then act like you have to come hell or high water: "Oh, we have to draft [whatever position], and we can't draft [this position]."  I'm good with whatever they do, until proven otherwise, but even then, you have to be mature enough to know that drafting is an imperfect exercise, filled with hits and misses. And, you generally don't know if you've hit, and especially missed, right away. Moreover, like I've said before, sometimes two players--different positions or not--can both be hits on their respective teams, so in that sense, it's not purely about a right or wrong pick as much as it's about putting puzzle pieces together at the time the best way that you know how.  At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but one thing that's true is that what the Panthers do regarding the draft is dependent upon what others do, and what others do can and does change things. That being the case, it's just another reason why you can't go in with tunnel vision. The thought of doing that is preposterous.
