Just had a Marowak appear out of nowhere with unknown CP. He had a red circle signifying he was difficult to catch and he ran after breaking free. Bummer.

My Pidgeot did the same thing. Found him and caught him on a curveball. Was satisfying.

Also, yes to the generic background camera. Much easier. Threw 15 balls at a Zubat last night with the camera background up. Was disappointed.

What's everyone's most rare/famous one they've caught? My gf just got Squirttle. I was jealous.

So far my rarest (I believe) are a 641CP Pincer and around a 600CP Scyther. A couple Evee evolutions in the 500's. I can't compete with a yellow team guy that's curb stomping people in my area though, I need to find some weak gyms to take over. Living in a suburb makes it a pain the ass though.

 

I've only found one of: Gastly, Jigglypuff, Psyduck, Ivysaur so I'd guess they're rare. Found a bunch of Bulbasaurs by the Ivysaur needs like 100 candy to evolve.

 

From what I've read, the area you're in determines a lot of what you'll find. I live on the ocean in SC so I've found some Staryus and Goldeens and Magikarps but no rock pokemon like geodudes. I imagine if you live near mountains you'd find those.

I love the sense of community the game is creating.  I laughed at Igo's tweet about how it took a cartoon game to get people back together.  It's true, but I'm glad it's something.  It seems like everyone is playing.

Server issues are killing me.

I'm lvl 11 trainer and I find a Snorlax last night with ????.   I didn't have great balls yet so I hit the guy like 5 times in a row with great throws (even after candy) and he just got out and ran eventually.  The three other friends got their Snorlax, albeit lower than me.   I was pissed.  Then I lost a Pincachu last night.  This morning, I lost two new ones on the way to work due to server freezes.    Did find a new one at work and trying to incense a Snorlax near me to come (I haven't got one yet).  

Half the time were hunting last night and walking around, server kept jacking up.  Hope they fix this.

Caught a Snorlax yesterday at work, but the fuger is only 12 CP. Was sitting at my desk and Ponyta's silhouette showed up, but he was three steps away. Disappeared now....what a troll. :(

Not sure what's rare or not but my favorite so far is Dratini.
