I was a tad shwammered at the time of the post but I was trying to highlight the guys who have either shown a big spark or will have the opportunity to get significant time.  In other words--guys with an upward trajectory but still need to prove themselves in a way or two.

With Godfrey, I'm just not sold on him but he's a completely serviceable FS.  In my opinion, FS is the more natural spot for both him and Coleman and eventually want a long term SS where Kurt can slide back to center field.  That may be another year (or two) but Kurt needs to carry over his play from last season regardless.  He's shown his skills in KC and Philly and I'd love to see him finally come into his own here becoming consistent and a long-term fit.

Do you mean Boston?

It would not shock me to see Funchess be more productive than KB.

People forget they weren't drafted all that far apart. Gettleman had first round grades on both.

Speaking of grades.... I know we have a BPA nature which got me to thinking about "value". What round would you suppose these guys were graded as....

Tre Boston, Mayo, Cap, Sanchez, Sandland??... I'd say @ the time they were drafted.... Tre and Cap(3rd)...Mayo, Sandland, Sanchez (4th)..value wise..everyone else I have figured out somewhat....

1st .....Kony, Butler, Funchess, Shaq, Star, Short ...

2nd....  Turner, Williams  Bradberry, Worley??

They say the first 3 rounds are your starters and quality depth. I'm trying to build myself up on Tre Boston and the new corners. Anyone?

Stews gunna go down and Wegher is going to beast out. CAP will be change of pace.

I was wondering if this was CAP's plan when he said that he was dropping weight. If he can't usurp Stew, maybe he can be an improvement on Fozzy.

    • That's a very incorrect statement right off the bat, coaches get fired for winning ugly all the time.  Every coach of a playoff team that then gets fired, got fired because they won ugly and didn't improve their players enough to win in the postseason. Guys like Andy Reid have been fired for "winning ugly" like you said, because they kept winning in spite of the improvement of their players. Also, "this is a fanbase starved for wins" is a statement I also don't agree with, I'm not "starved for wins", I'm "starved for a winning and contending franchise" which are two VERY different things. If the team and fans just want to win some games, then that's a loser mentality, sorry, but it is.  We should want to contend, not win a handful of games.  Every time this comes up I point back to the Lions the last 5 years or so.  They were losing games but improving every week while doing so a few years back.  THAT is how you improve as a franchise and move the needle towards contending, not winning games ugly.
    • Good lord. I don’t think I have ever seen a hole that open.
    • this is true.  But NFL Ss and defenses are actively taking that away and playing to take them away vs most teams.  The problem thus far in BY's career......is they are cheating and not respecting the deep game which makes the smaller/mid range game harder to pull off.  and Dallas is an anomaly game.  using those random games that run counter to vast work......doesn't really change the discussion/issues in Carolina.  Bryce Young took the shots this week because they were not just NFL open but college open.    Wide open dudes downfield that really were coverage busts/issues.
