Brady's appeal denied

Am I the only one that thinks brady isn't guilty..? Plus it's not like it affected the game at all.

To me this was always about more than just that one game. It was always about how this had been something the team and had been doing for a long time. They couldn't prove it though so they made it all about the one game when talking about it in the media but the punishment was for the extended culture of cheating Brady as the qb oversaw.

For the record I totally think he and the team were guilty and this had been going on forever. There is a reason players with historical issues of fumbling and dropped passes seemed to magically improve when going to New England, a soft ball is much easier to hold onto.

Agreed.

Not sure why any Panthers fans would be happy about this. First game, @Arizona Cardinals. I don't like making one of our key opponents' schedules way easier. We'll be fighting them for home field/first round bye/making playoffs (if Seattle wins division) and I know with Brady that would be a much harder game to win. Without Brady in Arizona and it is an easy win.

Its almost as if we hadn't beat Arizona easily in the playoffs 2 years in a row.

Bruce Arian's Team Circle Jerk doesn't worry me.

Florio points out that the decision on whether to hear the case in the Supreme Court would be made by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, someone with a rather low opinion of one of Brady's "good friends".

And who just recently made it clear that politics is part and parcel of her "judgements" on the law.

Good point, although one would say that going to the playoffs the two years before with a 12-4 finish and even 7-8-1 with all the injuries (to Cam in particular) should have given a bit more of a hint. As we finished 5-1 in 2014 with the only loss at Seattle in the playoffs (mainly due to that 80+ yard INT return potential 14 point swing), I think there were indications we would play well in the 2015. I think Benjamin getting hurt really overshadowed having an actual healthy Cam and having a gelling OL along with the growth of Luke, Norman and Short. Again, no one predicted 15-1 and SB, but it was pretty safe to think we'd probably win the division and make some noise in the playoffs.

History plays a role there too.

Prior to the past few years, the Panthers had occasionally flashed potential for a season or so, but after that they'd fall back to obscurity.

It was reasonable to assume that might happen again.

Definitely reasonable, but I think what we saw at the end of the season is the team we saw in 2015. As I said above, the 17-2 record was so far fetched, but I would have bet money on them winning the division even losing Benjamin. They gelled way faster, but the signs like the OL actually playing like a real OL and the D destroying Atlanta in Atlanta. I remember all the pre-season discussion about that being the first off season where Newton was actually healthy and available for all of it.

I could be wrong, but I am really looking forward to this season. I hope I am not disappointed, but I think in some spots (entire offense) and interior Dline/LBers we are going to be epic. If the other spots round into form, we are a better team than last year.

Valid. Keep in mind, though, that most other folks aren't paying attention to the Panthers as closely as we do. And to be fair, if you asked one of us for in-depth analysis of, say, the Titans, we'd be lacking.

The best part of this... There are few things funnier than apoplectic Patriot fans.

Right now, they're raging as though their suffering is greater than the Jewish slaves in Egypt and poor, brave Tom has been picked on more than all the martyrs of history.

Oh, the injustice of it all!!!

This is like OJ finally going to prison for "kidnapping/robbery"

I always felt he did that out of quilt. Knew he should have been punished, and went out and made it happen.

maybe he's not such a bad guy after all
