i was shitfaced drunk and laying face down on the floor of my living room after the field goal was good.  i started thinking back to how we were one motherfuging yard away from the game being over prior to punting it back to the falcons after cam fumbled.  i started to get that sinking feeling when the punt team came out on 4th and 1 near midfield.  then how it was basically a perfect punt and backed them up so far that if we got a sack or really any kind of negative play the game was over.  hell they'd have to basically drive sixty-ish yards in one or two shots (which is exactly what they did) to even have a shot.  then "get the fug off our field".

the falcons were a good fuging team then too.  i think that squad would end up going 13-3 and would be the top seed in the NFC for the second time in three years.  they had beaten us five times in a row at that point and it just made me want to puke.

Back to the substance here, I think LLoyds will likely lose but this is no slam dunk.  But they have to fight this as this case will be precedent setting.... will significantly drive up the cost to buy coverage for NFL players.  And who the hell would insure NFL players anyways?  I would want a 200k per year premium for a 1 mil policy given that I think there is a 1 in 5 chance of having a career ending injury in any given season for many players.

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
