No Man's Sky

Anyone getting this or got it already?  It sounds fairly incredible, but I'm unwilling to commit because it lacks interaction with others/multiplayer.  As a single player game, it sounds like it could be both amazing and addictive.  I just wish they gave you the opportunities to interact with others.

The day one patch is supposed to add a scanning ability that would make it easier to locate star systems that have been discovered by other players. Idk how true or easy it will be but if so it will help. I have ot preordered and paid for day of release delivery. So it should be on my porch when I get he from work.

Awesome!  I was thinking a great way to implement player interactions was through direct trades with one another as well as involving them in battles between factions...  that way you could develop allegiances or enemies with other users in a meaningful way (pick who to fight against/with).  I also think an extension of that could be when running into another user individually, you could decide to fight them or interact without fighting and you develop a reputation based on that.  That might make the perfect game in my mind.  Their ideas on exploration and travel are awesome, I just wish they incorporated some of this stuff in there...

Regardless, let me know what you think of it.

Have only made it to my second star system. Prolly played for 6 hours or so. So far it hasn't lived up to my expectations although they were pretty high and it is early in the game. They have evidently fixed the glitch were Earl release gamers could exploit the Atlas stone and reach center galaxy in 30hrs cus believe me that poo ain't happening. It is a good game so far and will prolly get better. If I had to rate right now is give it a 8/10.

This was a game that made me want to get a ps4 or gaming PC. I love the idea, the exploration, the discovery.

Now, i haven't played it, I've watched some folks play it a bit. I think I'm ok missing out. I'm sure it's a great game, but I don't have the time to invest in another investment game.

But if I was single and not deep into Destiny, or on Xbox, I'd probably be zooming around the universe! (Not going to the grocery store!)

I was very interested but as the developement progressed  and I learned more and more from the Devs my feelings for it sank.  They pretty much blew the opportunity to make a great game.  Maybe they are still willing to amend some stuff but anyways this guy pretty much nails it.

This game is like Skyrim if you take away the NPC's the swords, magic, story line, and just left  apothecary  elements.  I'm the dissapointed

Here is a reddit thread that describes what was sold to players vs what the game actually is.

If you're considering purchasing, I would check it out. There is an enormous list of things that they showed in footage or talked about that are not actually in the game. I did buy it for PC and it's okay, but not great and I wouldn't recommend purchase at the current price.

I'm about 30 hours in and don't get where all of the anger is coming from.  Ive logged about 7 systems and 15ish planets in the first 15 hours of play.  The system I'm currently in I decided to slow down and take more time instead of just staying long enough to get a new warp cell and jumping out.  Ive been in this system for as long as I had previously played.

The more leisurely approach is suiting me.  Ive largely quit grinding resources or buying and selling in the space station for units.  I do it if I need the cash for something but I don't do it just to have 8 figures of credits.  I've stopped grinding beacons for Op Centers and Drop Ships but rather flying low and slow and discovering these things on my own.

Just kinda taking it a lot slower and getting a lot more enjoyment out of it.

Here's the thing with No Man's Sky, while the planets and systems are quite pretty to look at and the gameplay is user friendly for gamers of all levels, there's no real triumphant moment or any reward for the time you've invested. It's almost too easy with no gratification at the end. Granted, this game is more fun than Elite: Dangerous and way less complicated than Kerbal Space Program but nothing is challenging in No Man's Sky nor does it feature anything remotely realistic about space travel (or even a planet's rotation for that matter).

Agree. It's a fun game and there are some beautiful landscapes/skyscapes, but I feel like at a point that won't be enough anymore. I'm still enjoying it right now, but I'm not sure it'll last until I reach the center of the galaxy (which I've read is disappointing on its own).

It's a pretty simple game when you get down to it. Hot/Cold/Toxic/Radioactive planets all play out the same. The galaxy is nearly devoid of intelligent life besides 1 alien at outposts and in giant space stations. I'm not wanting cities on every planet but it would be cool to really rarely see a home world or something, or a stone age civilization.

after 3 hours I got extremely bored of the game.. great premise but way too shallow to be a $60 game.

If you bought on Steam, you can request a refund even with over 2 hours played.

I'm still hanging onto it and not refunding. Mods have helped my enjoyment of it a lot and I'm holding out hope for some future improvements by Hello Games.

    • yeah, but the actual jersey Bryce Young is wearing is not the same jersey you are buying from Fanatics.
    • i just feel like i read this he says she says poo all the time over & over again  on the internet  TV  work ,in public & then i think back to myself oh what a sick slandermongering world we live in now. ts just like those National Enquirer magazines you find in the grocery store at the checkout counter which are nothing more than complete & utter BS  & more often than not when you assume something then you make an ASS out of U & ME. so chill &  let the courts do their job & if he is guilty well he is guilty  LOL either or this has nothing at all whatsoever to do with Carolina Panthers football
    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
