Dwayne Jarrett

I think it is a combo of Jarrett and the offense. He has never been given a real chane to grow as a player. He never has been given a legit shot to prove anything. Without legit reps and then opportunity...he will never grow or gain confidence. He might get in for 3 snaps and is never looked. He made plays last year. I have seen him get open in the preseason.....shots just aren't taken in his direction imo. It is a combo of things imo.

:iagree:

i dont think he, or any other number 3 WR, will really ever emerge as anything much with the type of offense Carolina runs.

Can't say I saw any balls thrown his way yesterday.
targeted once. got 9 yards. other than that not much of a factor.

the 3rd receiving option needs to be a TE and they need to be used more frequently.

rosario wasn't targeted until the 3rd quarter. that was stupid.

barnidge wasn't targeted at all.

points (well, yardage) left on the board.

Uhmm..looking at it that way...I was about 2.2 seconds in the 40 yd. dash from being a world class receiver. That and I didn't really care for getting hit....or practicing 8 months out of the year.....or keeping my weight down.....and I had hard hands.....and a hard head....

i was thinking about this yesterday. is he making himself stand out enough in practice to be worthy of looks on gameday or if it's the combo of the offensive approach and delhomme's mancrush on focusing on smitty at all costs. i can't remember a number 3 having any big inclusion in this offense since the emergence of #89 as well as the run first thinking. at the end of the day, fox is uber-loyal to vets and i can't help but think if jarrett was in atlanta, green bay, new orleans or any other offense that has a balanced qb at the helm if he wouldn't already be a solid #2 in the league.

idk, people make this argument a lot about our players, but who leaves our team and really gets any better than they were with us? Drew Carter, Colbert, Deshaun Foster, etc were out of the NFL shortly after leaving us.

Yeah, Jarrett was a higher pick, but I doubt this guy will ever be the player he was expected to be.

all of those guys were given reps and opportunity to prove their worth....they looked like garbage. Jarrett hasn't been given legit reps to prove if he really does indeed suck. In limited time imo his hands look to be better than a lot of guys that have come through town.

I think alot of it has to do with the fact that he's not being thrown to. I mean yea he's not all pro and he doesn't get off the line that great but if the panthers can scheme a game plan to get Rosario 96 yds receiving they sure as hell could do it for Jarrett. The ball isn't being spread around like it should be. It was better yesterday, we actually saw Jake throw to flats. And I will admit that Delhomme played really well yesterday but the offense would be much more effective we could get Jarrett, Barnidge and Rosario the ball. And I don't think all of that has to do with the game plan, Jake simply isn't seeing the other targets, or isn't willing to throw to them. The only other target he really seems trust besides Smith, the RBs and Moose, is King and King seldom gets the ball.

    • Collective effort Bucs have a top 10 run D so they should be able to focus in on and contain the run.  BY will have about 170 passing yards.  D will spend too much time on the field.  While Baker’s arm is in doubt, I think he makes enough plays over the middle and still gets one late over the top on us for a really big one to Evans as we get sort of fooled he is conserving his arm  I think it will be a pretty ugly offensive game for big chunks but the Bucs pull away late.
    • I’ve seen a few people mention the fact NO only had 10 points going into the 4th as some sort of victory by the defense.  I assume you’re box score watching? The Saints had 4 real possessions going into the 4th quarter. One was the 11:22 minute TD drive and the other a 7:58 FG drive According to nextgenstats there are normally 24 possessions in a game. There were 16 in Sundays game and that’s including a one play kneel down “possession” at the end of the first half and the final 1 play “possession” at the end of the game  For comparison, there were 11 possessions in last nights Seahawks Rams game in the 4th quarter alone
