We should be passing on 70% of our downs

Why, exactly? Fozzy had 71 yards on 6 carries at the half. That's averaging nearly 12 YPC.

and stewart had 5 for 9.  fozzy also fumbled once, and one of his runs that went for like 15 was because the niners were just in a prevent defense.  we're passing more this half and the niners haven't had a prayer

okay, what happens if we face a team like the broncos when our oline has trouble blocking and wrs have trouble getting open? You going to go out there with a towel yourself and mop up cam's brains up? Running keeps the defense honest, even if it isn't working you don't abandon it completely.

when did i suggest abandoning it completely?  we passed the ball well last week though

I do agree that we should pass more this season than we did last year. I say about 54% pass instead of 49% like it was last year. Giving a defense a balanced attack, makes our offense deadly but I do get annoyed when we run Tolbert or Fozzy straight down the teeth of a defense.

There is no other team like the Broncos, nobody else has that many legit pass rushers with a completely talented secondary to match it.

Been thinking this, we have done a good job rebuilding the receiving core which is where the talent is but we want to focus on pounding the rock with a good RB who cant stay healthy consistently and a couple of utility guy RBs.

Its backwards......

Olsen, Funch, KB, Ginn, Philly

They are the better unit. Time to start using them. I didnt even know Funchess was playing midway threw the first half and he was camp MVP. If KB and Olsen dont make those plays Niners could have took the game over. The run game kinda holds the offense back for this team, to many runs for no gain and loss of yards. It just doesnt work the way it should.

Yeah Cam threw a lot today but it was more due to the circumstances of the game rather than the actually game plan coming in.

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup.
