Now After We've Had A Night to Process Yesterday's Debacle, My Immediate Concern Regarding Cam

the o line was decent on that play, he was hurried, yes, but he had enough time to make a <10 yard throw.

I'm not saying he didn't but Cam doesn't trust that he does. He has been hit so many times that he appears(I'm not in his head so I can't know) to be scared to step up into the pocket. He always moves backwards or just stands still, Cam never steps up into the pocket to deliver a strike and he never really has since he got here. It's part of the reason we get killed by speed rushers. Most qbs step up into the pocket when guys run wide like that but Cam never adjusts his depth, he is almost always in the exact same spot, unless he is spinning backwards and trying to run left.

Cam is without a doubt in my mind the most talented player to ever play qb in the history of the NFL but there is a lot of basic stuff other qbs do that Cam just doesn't. For example Cam never really throws guys open, he waits for them to be "clearly open" before he lets it go(a huge reason he holds the ball so long). Part of it is a desire to limit turnovers and be "safe" but part of it has to be a lack of trust in his guys ability to read what he reads and separate at the moment of truth to make the close catches. Normally his talent makes up for a lack of fundamental qb play but other times it just screws the whole team over.

Now I'm just going to wrap up by saying I love Cam and wouldn't want anyone else to be my qb but he isn't without his flaws and at this point in his career I'm not sure if he is ever going to fix them. It's just something we have to live with and hope the coaches and the gm can get players to help mask his issues.

Imagine a solid o-line along with him improving his game under another OC. Cam would really be a force to be reckoned with.

You're right that the officials have been letting too much go against Cam.  That includes the play you are referencing.  The ATL player shoved Cam in the back of the head, after the play was over, and before Cam tossed the ball at him.  Personally, I'm getting to the point where I would like Cam to make a few bad throws into some Referees and Defensive players nut sacks.  As usual, the refs don't see anything a defensive player does illegally against Cam.

He didn't shove Cam in the back of the head. As he was coming up off the ground he bumped into Deon and Deon shoved him then Cam reacted.

Yes he did you ATL homer.  Try watching the replay before you spew your ignorance on a topic.

since his rookie year, ive always felt he should be played this way:

1. call plays as if hes a statue qb. quick passes and normal hand-offs

2.the oline loses, take off and run

3.things open up, throw down field

4. 3rd or 4th and one, qb sneak

all this option poo option poo complicates things for the offense more so than it does for the opposing defense

When Deon shoved him, that was bait. Cam was getting up and bumped into him. Deon pushing him was enough. Cam is human first and had that been sweet little Matt, Luke or TD would've been flagged.

Deon definitely baited him. And again I think defenders get away with hitting Cam a little extra because of his antics.

I had watched the longest yard before the Denver game and thought the exact same thing

Im convinced that the NFL and our own team Docs didn't diagnose Cam correctly, if at all in the denver game. They made sure to cover thier own asses though. He wasnt touched vs San Fran and was re-concussed in the Vikings game and then again vs ATL. Think back on all of the weird poo Cam has done this season that he has NEVER done (ie the safety, the careless fumbles, the blank look on his face, during that 2pt conversion yesterday.

Sorry ass fans are quicker to dog the kid than put 2 and 2 together.

I think even the SF game he was concussed or had some lingering effects but like you said, he wasn't touched. He said he was fine in Denver and they took his word instead of using their better professional judgement. I give it to the man, he has fought and taken every lick without a complaining word. I
