Then the "same team" trope becomes a problem too, considering keeping the same team intact, even though that's entirely false, wasn't acceptable to begin with.  As constructed, that same team lost the superbowl because they werent good enough to overcome denver's pass rush AND bad officiating.  We needed to upgrade (see:mike remmers, michael oher, slot reciever, defensive end).  Gettleman didnt.

In a year we shouldve been upgrading aggressively, he chose to downgrade and save some money...  oh, and brag about it.

 

We could have overcome Denver's pass rush with a better scheme ie 3 step drops, double teaming Miller, etc

Instead Shula dials up long developing plays.

Agreed. the biggest loss was Josh and he forced Gettleman's hand.

All we had to do was keep the same Superbowl team that we know actually worked because hell we went to the Superbowl..its not Rocket Science..

Tillman and Allen would have been the only missing piece because THEY retired..

But no, we let Norman walk, Cut Harper, Cut finnegan and destroyed the chemistry for this team and brought in rookie players that are just sucking right now..ONLY pieces we should have replaced were Tillman and Allen's position..

Gettleman alone killed this team with his ego..

He tried to keep Josh he didn't sign the tag,. Josh could have held out for the majority of the season because they were too far apart.

He banked on Oher, Ealy, Funchess, Boston etc taking the next step the panthers didn't have $60M in cap space to pay for premier OT's, S, WR's, etc.

What moves could he have made?
