James Anderson sucked. Thomas Davis was probably never going to play again.Jon Beason wasn't far behind.

Moving of the goal post. Jon Beason was not far behind Davis in terms of never playing again at that time.

Just admit that riskiest picks / safest picks was flawed.

The rotation ploy is a bad excuse, in no way should a 1st rounder be spent on someone who is suppose to be rotational

So because Stah, and KK get rotated out. Does that mean they are not good enough to be starters?

Which would you rather have. Quality depth for when you rotate in? Fresh quality depth. Or crappy depth, so you can't rotate? So your starters are gassed late in games?

You can get a good rotational guy in the 3rd or later rounds, in no way should you spent it on rotational. our starters being gassed had very little to do with out late game collapses.

History is important in life.

We have seen Gman the past two drafts use our first round picks on guys to backup our two strongest starting positions on D.

Again, you start investing and having your talent watching games....your team will feel the impact of it as other spots on your starting unit begin to get filled at Walmart.  Guys on the sideline don't help compensate that much.

Could of upgraded RT, S, DE, a host of spots the last two years in the draft that were of need.  Putting those off to invest in depth just makes your holes grow.  This offseason should be a C offseason but we are behind the right eightball

Dude some Huddlers dont understand logic.  You can apply the same theory of keeping guys fresh on offense also If you had  Hunter Henry he could have been used for a lot of the blocking plays Greg Olsen was used for and we could have sent Olsen out on a route which always leads to good things.

We are lucky to have Klein to step in for Luke imagine if Olsen got hurt the offense would turn into a pile of dog poo with depth we have at TE.

No poo. These round and round discussions are wonderful. Eric Ebron was taken 10th overall and he's still barely contributing. Hunter Henry on our team this year wouldn't be the same as what he's been in SD and people would be complaining that we blew a 1st rounder on a TE we don't need since we have Olsen. Funny that our two DTs are signed through 2016 and 2017 and will command a good chunk of change, yet DT is an awful position to draft. Olsen is signed through 2018.

Love the fact that our 2nd TE under Shula as OC has a best season of 17 catches for 121 yards when Benjamin was lost for the season and we had no legit #1 WR, but this thread (DG haters part of it) seem to think that Shula would rewrite his playbook for Hunter Henry. He would be doing very little this season if we drafted him and we'd have an extra loss last week against NO if Butler doesn't block the FG. Rainwhatever would have started a thread about some other draft pick.

Haha the fact you compared him to Eric Ebron makes this argumet stupid, Ebron is nothing more than a glorifed oversized WR.  The reason they have 121 yards because they dont have the talent to put up the #s. You are assuming he wouldnt put up the #s but the stats shows he is a very effective TE while playing on a team with a great TE already. Henry woluld actually fit better with the Panther's offensive scheme and his # would be same if not better.

Reportedly the 2015 1st round pick was between DJ Humpries & Shaq. Humpries was picked 1 pick ahead of Shaq. If the panthers didn't select the gimmie and picked the tackle who has not lived up to his draft status would you have been happy?

Do you take Poe, Gilmore, Cox over Luke?

Humpries would have been  better with Panthers since we have a far better Interior OL. I wanted to take Cox but I'm happy with Luke but if we did take Cox our defense wouldnt have been that worse either.

Fair enough.

Charlotte Observer predicted the Luke pick the day before the draft, I read the article and I was on boat with the Luke pick. Can't remember who I wanted before that.

The reason we invested heavily on the DL & LB is due to defensive scheme  of the front 4 stopping the run and allowing the LBs to roam free.  D.G. should invest the same way on offense since we are run 1st team that means you either have top OL (which we dont on the edges) or you have big bodied TEs that can help out in run/ pass blocking while giving you a threat in receiving game.
