Releasing Tolbert is a cap savings of 1.5 million

I see Gradkowski as more of a final preseason cut because he barely costs the team any money. If he gets out produced in the preseason by his competition then I do see him losing his spot.

I don't on the other hand see any possible chance that Anderson is cut, he is one of the better backups in the entire NFL and their value cannot be understated. He's worth more than $1.75 million given his mentorship to Cam, his leadership, his playing ability, his understanding of a playbook. Plus veteran QBs are very valuable when it comes to helping learn new playbooks and I have a feeling we will have a new OC after this season.

That's fair with Gradkowski and the most likely scenario, keep in mind Bene's cap savings were a little less when he was cut this season (at about $500k).  Anderson is a quality backup and I'd be happy to have him (especially with a possible change at OC) but I'm considering it another way.  Why not turn that into a money maker where if you can coach up a good backup other teams will start paying to pull them away (by trade or receiving compensatory picks). Several teams have made significant profit operating this way.

Spotrac and OTC seem to disagree, the latter has $750k of his $1.1M base as fully guaranteed. If correct, the savings would really only be $750k with $1.1M in dead money (interesting how the same numbers come up with this contract structure).

So the question becomes, is Tolbert worth $750k (the net difference between cutting and keeping him)? I'm sure many think not, but that's a little LESS than the veteran minimum for a player with four years experience. Frankly there aren't many options you can afford with that, so I'm not sure if the benefit is there. I'd guess he sticks around.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
