Oh how close we were

Searched "Ron Rivera fired" on google today and this gem of a video was brought up from back in Keuchly's rookie season when Rivera was almost fired. Found it funny how some of the points that Marc James made are still relevant today like how we lost several close games and how that reflects on coaching, how we came off to a slow start at 2-8 but ended up finishing the season with 4 wins in a row which saved Rivera's job.

Who knows maybe JR won't let himself be fooled this time and pull the plug.

Ron's not getting fired this year. I have to believe that he's built up at least a little bit of equity with 3 straight division titles and an NFC title. Now his coordinators are a different story....

I also think that if we start off next season like this season his seat will be nuclear hot.

I definitely agree with your last statement, even though I believe he needs to go sooner than later because our prime core players are only getting older and we aren't gonna get anywhere on a consistent basis with Rivera. If we do well next season that's only going to give Rivera more time as the HC which means more mediocrity from the Panthers.

Like I mentioned before

John Fox last 3 years in Denver (you know the coach Ron replaced here)

Record 13-3 Lost to Ravens, who went on to win the SB in Divisional Round

Record 13-3 Lost SB to Seattle

Record 12-4 Lost in Divisional Round to Colts

Fired. Denver goes on to win the SB right after

So why are we giving Ron a pass? The injuries excuses needs to go away, we was garbage before the injuries. There's enough talent on this team to not finish 4-12. 2 out of 6 seasons over .500 isn't going to cut it. He's never been a good coach

We all know why Denver won. A certain player needed a certain ring to ride him off into the sunset.

Depending on how they Miami and KC do in the next few weeks may not even make the playoffs.

Consistent is three NFCS in a row. No team had accomplished that previously.

So what we had a down year. Lick our wounds and come back with a focus next year.

Eh but idk how much of that credit can be given to Ron. And winning the division at 7-8-1 doesn't mean we had a good season.

All I'm saying is why is the Panthers settling on winning a division and going to the playoffs. The goal is to win the SB and Ron got out-coached in our biggest game, then he follows that up getting out-coached the next season again

2014 is turning out to be a gift and curse for us. We shouldn't have won the division and went to the playoffs with that record. Ron gets credit for that season thus giving him a pass to not be replaced, just ignoring the fact we weren't good that year

I just want to say that this is not just a losing season. This is a historically bad losing season for a team coming off of a super bowl appearance. Heads should roll and it starts with Shula.

Exactly going from 15-1 and superbowl to 4-8 just speaks volumes on the coaches in a really bad way. People seem to forget that Rivera starts out the season 1-3 more often than not, but its all part of the "challenge" he thoroughly enjoys. I'm sick of the man for many reasons. His poor starts, his lack of passion I mean we could be down 70-0 in a game and he'd show no emoition, questionable decision making (on and off the field), similar gameplans every week, his inability to see Shula as the crutch that he is (his coordinators reflect an awfully lot on him too), his lack of defense for his franchise qb who is a big reason why he still even has the job, the list goes on and on.
