How the hell did anyone think Goff was worthy of being drafted, let alone first overall. My has he been terrible this year.

Well to be fair, he's a rookie. There's room to improve.

He probably shouldn't be starting right now but it's not like the Rams have much better options.

They can't all be Cam Newton.

I'd prefer a top DE or safety but I'm thinking Fournette is more likely to be available when we pick than one of those 4. Any of the 5 would be great by me. (Fournette, Garrett, Allen, Peppers and Adams) Hope we can get one of them where we pick, I don't much care for anyone in the top 15 aside from them. At that point may as well trade down.

Barnett?  Set Reggie White's sack record only 3 years out of high school at the highest level and is an all around DE and apparent good guy?

Because the Rams are in LA and Goff is a Californian that played for the Golden Bears! Of course, it's hilarious because anyone that lives in California knows that Northern Californians don't quite get along with Southern Californians.

You'd think a punter could at least hold onto the ball while running unimpeded.

Because his oline is swiss cheese on a platter.

Heck, Todd Gurley basically turned JAG behind it. How do you expect a rookie to do well with all that pressure?

Unlike Dak Prescott, Goff has no oline to help him out, and that's where he's struggling. He doesn't have the weapons, or any help at all. No run game gets started, and he's forced to move around and make some throws, not to mention he wasn't expecting to start this year.

I think if they get him half a decent line he has potential. Otherwise he might be dead by the end of the season.

It's not just the line, though yes it has been horrible. Gurley's struggles are more because there's no pass threat at all on that offense so defenses focus solely on Gurley. Britt, Quick and Austin are actually a pretty solid group. Not great but not terrible by any means. Wentz has been doing way better in Philly with much worse at the receiving group and a line that is pretty bad as well. Goff was ridiculously bad tonight even when he had time. Has zero pocket awareness and was throwing the ball like Peyton Manning pre-benching last year, which would be terrifying to me if I had any stock in that team. I expect to see those lame throws from an injured 39 year old QB who has no arm left, but not from a 1st overall rookie who I traded up to get who's 100% healthy. Goff has thrown a lot of worse passes than The Golden Calf of Bristol did. He actually looks kind of like The Golden Calf of Bristol except with no mobility.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
