First-pick draft

Recommended Posts

I would like that draft based on Ross and Adams alone that's pretty crazy. But you'd have to hope both of them fell for that to happen. Maybe with Ross but Adams I don't believe will make it to 8.

Trading down in this draft is our friend wow. Wonder if the organization would consider trading out of a top 10 pick though.

Round 1 Pick 16 (BALT): John Ross, WR, Washington (A-)
Round 2 Pick 8: Adoree' Jackson, CB, Southern California (B)
Round 2 Pick 15 (BALT): Ethan Pocic, C/OG, LSU (B)
Round 3 Pick 8: Eddie Jackson, SS, Alabama (A)
Round 3 Pick 14 (BALT): JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Southern California (C)
Round 3 Pick 34 (COMP): Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson (B+)
Round 4 Pick 8: Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma (A-)
Round 5 Pick 8: Sam Rogers, FB, Virginia Tech (A)
Round 6 Pick 8: Jonathan McLaughlin, OT, Virginia Tech (C)
Round 7 Pick 15: Ryan Switzer, WR, North Carolina (C+)

Well now that we've moved up 9 spots essentially from our high third to a late 2nd, everyone should do another mock. I don't know how soon the kony ealy trade will be updated in these draft databases though

EDIT : Nevermind firstpick already updated the picks, nice

#1 Mostly focus on getting ross and fournette. Depth at Saftey and CB. Painful trade with giving away both 2nds, the 3rd, and next year's 1st, but getting Fournette and Ross is huge.

Round 1 Pick 8: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU (A)
Round 1 Pick 15 (IND): John Ross, WR, Washington (A-)
Round 4 Pick 11 (N.E.): Justin Evans, SS, Texas A&M (A+)
Round 5 Pick 8: Marquez White, CB, Florida State (B)
Round 5 Pick 19 (N.E.): Corn Elder, CB, Miami (Fla.) (B)
Round 6 Pick 8: Xavier Woods, SS, Louisiana Tech (C)
Round 7 Pick 15: Jonathan McLaughlin, OT, Virginia Tech (B-)

#2 Another wild trade up senario where we trade all our 2nds 3rd rounder, and next year's first to get Myles Garrett and some solid players in Evans, Foreman , white, and Cannon.

Pick traded from San Francisco 49ers to Carolina Panthers. Details:
S.F. receives the following picks: Round 1 Pick 8 (8) (CAR), Round 2 Pick 8 (40) (CAR), Round 2 Pick 32 (64) (CAR), Round 3 Pick 34 (98) (CAR), 2018 Round 1 Pick (CAR)
CAR receives the following picks: Round 1 Pick 2 (2) (S.F.)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 2 (S.F.): Myles Garrett, DE/OLB, Texas A&M (A)
Round 4 Pick 8: Justin Evans, SS, Texas A&M (A)
Round 5 Pick 8: D'Onta Foreman, RB, Texas (A)
Round 6 Pick 8: Marquez White, CB, Florida State (A)
Round 7 Pick 15: KD Cannon, WR, Baylor (A)

# 3 no trades, bit of a reach with Ross but this is a senario where the usual suspects are off the board and the Panthers are high on Ross for whatever reason.  BPA through throuh round 2, 3 , 4 .

Round 1 Pick 8: John Ross, WR, Washington (B+)
Round 2 Pick 8: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (A)
Round 2 Pick 32: David Njoku, TE, Miami (Fla.) (A+)
Round 3 Pick 34 (COMP): Justin Evans, SS, Texas A&M (A-)
Round 4 Pick 8: Wayne Gallman, RB, Clemson (A)
Round 5 Pick 8: Erik Magnuson, OT, Michigan (B-)
Round 6 Pick 8: Jake Elliott, K, Memphis (C)
Round 7 Pick 15: Deatrich Wise Jr., DE, Arkansas (B-)

# 4 traded down once witht he cards to get an extra 2nd (3 total 2nds) and an extra 3rd (two 3rds total) . Traded all 3 2nds to Redskins to get back in the 1st

Round 1 Pick 13 (ARI): Jamal Adams, SS, LSU (A+)
Round 1 Pick 17 (WASH): Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan (A)
Round 3 Pick 13 (ARI): Antonio Garcia, OT, Troy (A)
Round 3 Pick 34 (COMP): Jake Butt, TE, Michigan (A-)
Round 4 Pick 8: Wayne Gallman, RB, Clemson (A)
Round 5 Pick 8: Erik Magnuson, OT, Michigan (B)
Round 6 Pick 8: Jake Elliott, K, Memphis (C)
Round 7 Pick 15: Brendan Langley, CB, Lamar (TX) (B-)

Decided to go with a unrealistic trade down with Cleveland to pick up an extra second. Then used two 2nds to trade back in the 1st. Went offense for fun:

Round 1 Pick 12 (CLE): O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama (A) Actually am starting to really want him in the draft because I think Adams and Fournette will be gone.

Round 1 Pick 20 (DEN): John Ross, WR, Washington (A-) Injuries are a concern but watching his workout video and the cuts that he makes are incredible.

Round 2 Pick 8: Garett Bolles, OT, Utah (A) No way he drops to the 2nd BUT had to get him. I was actually going for Obi here but he was picked a couple spots before.

Round 3 Pick 34 (COMP): Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova (B+) I'm going potential in this pick. I want the physical freaks. I want Tanoh and Obi

Round 4 Pick 8: Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma (A-) Compete with Cap

Round 5 Pick 8: Jarron Jones, DT, Notre Dame (A-) Now that we have Love I don't think he would make the team now that I am thinking about it

Round 6 Pick 8: Sam Rogers, FB, Virginia Tech (A+) Figured I'd go with a Jeremy pick

Round 7 Pick 15: Jake Elliott, K, Memphis (C+) Flyer to compete with Gano

Went defense early and then some offense with no trades. Waste so much time on this site.

Round 1 Pick 8: Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford (A+) Learn from Pep and CJ
Round 2 Pick 8: Obi Melifonwu, SS, Connecticut (A-) Learn from Adams
Round 2 Pick 32: Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee (A+) Stew replacement
Round 3 Pick 34 (COMP): Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State (A+) Good speed receiver
Round 4 Pick 8: Jake Butt, TE, Michigan (A) We can wait on him to recover
Round 5 Pick 8: Corn Elder, CB, Miami (Fla.) (A) 4th corner?
Round 6 Pick 8: Zane Gonzalez, K, Arizona State (C+) Best kicker in the draft to compete with Gano
Round 7 Pick 15: Stevie Tu'ikolovatu, DT, Southern California (A) Practice squad guy to one day take Love's place

I can't remember, but I gave up my 2018 first rounder plus some of the later round picks to get back into the first for Howard. McCaffrey slid to 2/8. Bolles was still on the board too, so I sent Arizona's 2nd rounder and our comp 2nd rounder to get 2/9.

Then, the other picks, I think I took some offers and slid down a couple times, and if a guy I was watching was in danger of being taken, I bundled picks to move up and get him.

I would have had less picks, but my offers got turned down a couple times. Ideally, I would have only had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounders.

    • Redeemed ourselves with a solid middle to end the night....
    • This is spot on, with the first 5 years of a QBs contract being so pivotal, as it should, unless you have Pat Mahomes or the reincarnation of Tom Brady, stats shows once the qb gets paid, the teams Super Bowl chances shrink significantly  what we did to get Bryce was idiotic to say the least, not because of the player(not a Bryce endorsement) but because there’s a long history of proof, making big swings at qb, are usually big misses  find the identify, build around that, and go from there. Unfortunately we don’t have one, and neither the defense nor offense side of the ball are more than good at best
    • Seems like a loaded EDGE class. though I think we don't spend a premium pick there with Scourton/Princely showing production and potential.  Concepcion at 19 is intriguing and seen ARSB comps with his shiftiness, high IQ and YAC ability. He and TMac would be a nasty 1-2 combo at stretching a defense. Brenan Thompson could be that day 2 speedy/slot guy that could boost his draft stock in Mobile.  Sam Hecht could be a later selection for C depending on how we are planning to attack that position in FA and our own previous guys. Shelton from PSU is an interesting developmental tackle that if he can get locked into an NFL strength program and rock up, could be good down the road. Speaking of PSU, Dani Dennis Sutton was a guy last year I was big on and was bummed he headed back to Happy Valley. I think he can be a helluva NFL player, and if he can show improvement in his pass rush moves, I wouldn't be mad at him in a trade-back situation.
