This is very good and I like the off season moves..  Peppers makes total sense IMO.  I would love Cyprien but for some reason think Gettleman will find the market too expensive for him.  Jahleel Addae might be in line with Gmans budget is also a FA  and if healthy is a pretty good football player.

You're 100% correct in assuming Gettleman is going to go after secondary players that are cheaper, prove it deals- see Mike Mitchell. I just like Cyprien so I threw him in there.

Addae is much more likely, good call. Thanks for the feedback

Also you can mark my words here. If in the case we do draft Tanoh Gettleman's press conference will begin with a snicker and either the words "hawg mollie" or "you can't teach size"

Bet.

That'll happen no matter what. Zero percent chance in this whole draft we don't take at least one lineman and when talking about that pick it'll be said. Nobody would bet you man.

Love:

  • KK Tag
  • Norwell extension
  • Cyprien signing
  • Trade w/ CLE to get Joe Thomas  (very creative. I like it more than trying to trade a 3rd and we will still get a beast at 12, though it may not be in the tier of player at 8)
  • OJ Howard selection
  • Isiah Ford selection

Like:

  • CJ re-signing
  • Kpassagnon selection (might be too soon, but we'll see)
  • Gallman selection (though I like other guys like Mack, Williams, Connor better)
  • Munnerlyn signing

Don't Like:

  • Ginn re-signing (Depends on price but think we can see what Byrd has and/or draft/FA to get someone better unless Ginn is depended on as a WR4 and doesn't block others....more of a safety valve a la Jerricho Cotchery, then I'd move this into the 'like' category.)
  • Peppers signing
  • Jordan signing (Too injured and can't get/stay on field)
  • Jones selection (I like him but not if we plan on bringing in Ford. I love what Ford brings and is an under the radar WR right now not being talked about enough. I like Zay Jones a lot, but doubt he's there with that selection. If he is, take him, but not a fan of doubling down on WR in the draft).

Honestly, if every and all of these things happened, I wouldn't be mad. There's a lot of merit to all of these players fitting here and filling needs nicely between the draft/FA and via trade. We would certainly be in the conversation to return to the promised land with this kind of offseason.

Well done and thought out SOJA!!

Well thought out and huge fan of the CLE trade / OJ Howard selection.

thank you for the feedback. The two WR selection is my attempt at pulling the Gettleman double down I expect we get that none of us see coming, but we have other positions of need.

The Dion Jordan thing is kinda meh in my book too. I would love to add multiple pass rushers this offseason though. Lord knows we need them.

It's time for us to move on from DA & Webb.  DA looked below average the limited playing time he got, 5 picks isn't good, and Webb isn't the ST's ace he used to be.  Time for some fresh blood.

fair analysis, certainly. I just don't see that happening this offseason. Who knows though. Maybe this is a year we draft a backup QB?

Cyprien isn't going to get paid. He's been a disappointment in Jax even though his tackling numbers look pretty damn good. Jax fans dislike him. He's a liability in the passing game and is a true in the box safety.

Kam Chancellor is averaging 7mil a year. TJ Ward is averaging 5.5. Cyprien will be lucky to get 5mil. I'm looking probably a one year prove it somewhere 3.5 mil or the most 4.5 a year.

I do like Addae a lot.

    • forgot to include the quote: best play in panther history   Pretty great.  X Clown also. I was always real fond of Jake’s 1st play vs Jacksonville simply for his entrance into the huddle which completely woke people up. That and what they went on to do in that game was a major turning point for the franchise.IMO. Kris Jenkins’ kick xp block vs TB is a big one for me.
