You're aware thats not even the national championship game? Thats Northwestern vs Gonzaga and it happened with 5 minutes remaining in the second round while the Zags were up by 5. Good effort though

Yes, I am aware.  Northwestern was making a come back and had all the momentum.  It was late in the second half.  That obvious missed call derailed their comeback.  That play, which led to a Collins tech (who could blame him), resulted in a four point swing.  Who knows, without that missed call Gonzaga may have never made it out of the second round.  In the course of a game, tournament, season, every team benefits from missed calls.

Don't be so effing smug.

I mean if you want to go back in the tournament UNC shouldn't have advanced out of the Kentucky(Elite eight) or Arkansas game. Major help from refs in both games for the Heels.

I don't even have to link the Kentucky articles. Four starters on the bench in the first half due to touch fouls is pretty bad.Game after game UNC benefitted from numerous obvious missed calls that no one else seemed to get. Congrats on winning the 6th but don't act like officiating was equally bad for everyone.

Not sure why y'all keep trolling the Kentucky dude. He gracefully bowed out awhile ago. Leave him alone.

The duke fan above... LOL! He still salty. Troll away. The irony of a duke fan bitching about officiating bias is nothing short of hilarious. ACC refs float that program like a turd that refuses to be flushed.

The fact that I'm a Duke fan doesn't change the validity of what I'm saying. I know the majority of you are Walmart fans who never got admitted into either school so you don't have to be so obsessed that it blinds you to truth. Duke does benefit from officiating. K doesn't spend 80 percent of the game screaming at refs for nothing. That still doesn't mean Carolina wasn't playing 8 v 5 at times especially in major moments this tournament. And once again, Im about as far away from salty as a Duke fan could get about UNC winning a championship. I've spent the last few days at house parties and completely derailed lectures. This has been one of the best weeks of my life. If it couldn't be Duke then ill always pull for Carolina and if Duke is still alive then ill always pull against anyone but Duke. Not that hard to understand.

Edit: With that said, theres no point in continuing to talk about it. There's only a few of you that can honestly discuss a game intelligently. Congrats on the sixth, y'all had a great season. We'll try to even the score up next year. Cheers

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
