Matt Kalil our new LT

Recommended Posts

Okung would not be cheaper. I still fail to understand what people don't get, LTs get paid big money. This contract will average over 10 mill. That's what the market dictates. Glennon who hasent proven poo just got a contract averaging $14 mill a year, because that's what the market dictates for QBs another premium position. LT is a premium position and players get paid as such whether unproven, average or good. Kalil is probably average at this point, but young enough to still improve and like Oher just coming to a better situation may help. Especially with Ryan pushing him. The alternative could have been much worse.

Matt Kalil was great his rookie year, and then went on a downward spiral of injuries and inconsistent play until he went on IR last year.  Prior to going on IR, the coaching staff felt like he had turned the corner and had just had his best off-season.  What may have changed to get him back on track?

Longtime Panther fans may know... From 2011-2015, this man was the Offensive Line coach in MN.

He was fired after 2015, AKA another year of a dumpster fire along the Offensive Line.

I don't know about you, but I feel much better about our chances of coaching Kalil up than I did before I knew that.

Curious if they end up cutting Oher, or if they still plan on moving him to RT. Regardless of how Kalil has looked and held up the last few years, I'm sure Gettleman saw something that he felt good about..doubt he would just sign him because he's Ryan's brother..we really were desperate tho

I'm pretty sure coaches had a lot of input in this.

For all u Okung fans.......

FYI he sucked ass last year as well.

EXACTLY and there was NO GUARANTEE he would even consider signing here.  We could sign anyone and the retards on this board would get their panties wadded.

Hopefully they move him to the right side. Our line will be much improved if that's the case.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
