Remember when Kris Jenkins said...

....that this team had no heart? the stud DT we could use right now is up in NY on a playoff caliber team with a great young QB.

was he right?

I see 2 options here:

1) we put together a group of players who have no heart, outside of say Beason, maybe Jake and Smith. Everyone else doesn't care. therefore not the coaches fault? Jenkins was just a punk, running his mouth. A cancer that needed to be got rid of...

OR

2) they are a reflection of the coaching staff, and could desperately use a motivator as head honcho. Say bill cowher.

Heck, Trgovac saw this coming and abandoned ship instead of being the scape goat this year. Henning is better than Jeff Davidson, but Henning took the fall for Fox basically.:banghead:

This team has too much talent to be this bad.

The team has bought into the John Fox "it is what it is" philosophy. They are a timid team. Seems like they're going through the motions.
Yep. I caught a little bit of Delhomme's news conference and he said "it is what it is". Kind of pissed me off. I don't think the problem is that Delhomme doesn't care, but there just doesn't seem to be anything he can do about it.

Let's not bring up this 'fire' BS again, please. There's fire in this team on both sides of the ball, it's just not translating to production on the field.

i agree. other than peppers, i think everyone else has determination. even jake.

our biggest problem is offensive playcalling. fox and davidson must go and keep meeks. new blood at the top and a creative playbook will do wonders for our offense.

Jenkins reminds me of Jose Canseco, a self-absorbed prick with a "do as I say, not as I do" arrogance that undermines any desire people have to listen to him...

But sadly, and painfully, right in a lot of what he's said.

lol jose canseco deserves a nobel peace prize for exposing the fraud that is american baseball

i remember espn would have so many people say he was a moron, have they apologized yet?

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
