Report: Panthers Have Interest In McCaffery As Their 8th Pick

The more I think about McCaffery, the more I want him to be a Panther.

Three needs filled. HB/Slot/Returner

 

And he is exceptional at all three.

No freakin way he is even remotely close to the impact player fournette would be in our offense. His role would be just like Fozzy, shula wouldnt know how to utilize him. I would be upset if we used a pick like this at 8. He will fall to the 2nd rd IMO

Fall to the 2nd?  I am not saying that he should be taken at 8.  But thinking he will go in the 2nd is hilarious....you are embarrassing yourself with that one.

And maybe if Fozzy was as good as McCaffrey he would get the ball in his hands more, but he's not.

Our OC can't use the players we've got to their strengths and people want us to draft a player like this in the top 10? LOL

I'm liking McCaffrey more than I originally was, but he'll need a strong OC behind him to use him properly.

You guys are getting caught up on the fact saying mccaffrey and fozzy have the same skill sets. Im not saying that. Im saying the role would be the same in our offense. And dont worry, no one here is quitting their day job to post on a forum full of arm chair GMs. Thank God.

His role would be to supplant fozzy and instantly upgrade that role which we desparately need

Bronn - I respect your posts on here more than most, so I am asking this in all sincerity.

Lots of folks say our OC can't use the players we've got to their strengths.  Who specifically do you mean and how is he screwing this up?  I know Cam came in as a dual-threat QB and he's well on his way to breaking all the QB rushing records for TDs, Yds, 1st downs, etc..  He's got a talented TE that just set a record with 3 straight years with 1000+ yds.  He's got a big bruising WR that's played all of 2 years and has about a thousand yards in each.

What super talent has he been given that he did not utilize correctly?
