Another Christian McCaffrey thread?

Recommended Posts

Mcaffrey to me is someone you dont take off the field unless is defense...  punt returner, slot reciever RB..

put him in the slot with stew on the field, 3rd down RB, and then return punts after peppers Tbags someone

draft a thumper this season or next and were set at the position for a while..

but stright up just thinking this season the RB position would be one of the best considering all of the skillsets we would have at the position

I would take Fournette or McCaffrey or Howard. Just make it an offensive player this time.

Agree.

This is the year to load up on O early. But I have one more guy on my wish list, and that's Carlos Henderson. With McCaffrey, for example, we would have two explosive KR's and two more targets in the passing game. Give me a combo of Fournette and Henderson or McCaffrey and Henderson, and we can use the other 6 picks on D and OL.

McCaffrey and Henderson would be ideal..and very realistic, could happen.  That would rock.

in for his 2nd touchdown... in for his 3rd touchdown

you hear that often in his highlights

he has my blessing at #8

It's not that difficult to understand what Dave really likes. He talks about it all the time when evaluating prospects. He loves hog mollies, he loves pass rushers, and he loves TD scorers. KB had 15 TD receptions at FSU leading up to us drafting him in the 1st round.

But, Dave loves his height/weight/arm length/hand size measurements too and McCaffrey lacks there. Then again, we don't exactly know how we'd use him. Hell, if we plan on using him in the slot quite a bit, he actually has good size for a slot receiver.

"Big men allow you to compete"

perhaps we spent the time getting the big men..  now lets put the pieces in place behind him to compete...

he didnt say "Big men and only big men CAN compete"

Exactly. He is the bigger better Wes Welker only more elusive and explosive.  A threat to score every time he touches the ball. What is there not to like?

His short area quickness more than makes up for that. We don't have a single wr left who can consistently separate.

that "big men allow you to compete" approach hasn't exactly worked out so well at WR so far.

so far.....

the approach isnt over..

imagine KB, Funch (you may not but I believe will be a liable, big ass, go up and get it stud *hes younger than I am*    regardless,  even scratch Funch, take him out of the equasion) Olsen.. tall ass dude that GO UP and get it. then you have a dude who is an ABSOLUTE stud underneath...   i think McCaffreys value goes way up for us in terms valuing him over top height and deep ball ability ( may still get a  speed guy round 2, 3 that can go overtop the safteys) because we have such physical dominant monsters in the big mans spectrum.. then we add a guy like McCaffrey who would jus tear up mother fuc(k)ers underneath like how the fug would ypu defend that?

Cam...   instead of running after a busted play chip it to McCaffrey...   were in I-formation? yeah, technically,  but McCaffrey could spell out of the backfield and end up being 10 yards downfield being a THREAT....

i could write a better post like an essay but right now here are me fragmented thoughts...

basically our offense is still a big mans game as it was in 2015...  we still have the same big ass QB, same big ass RB, and now, though last years was just an overall drought mentally, we have a the biggest most pysically dominant player at the WR position in the league...

McCaffrey makes us 3 dimensional...  we would have the scat, slot, and IMO a 3 down, fully capable of toting the rock, runner if you want him to be...

in the big picture of our team and offense it makes so much damn sennse (to me)

Fournette (as much as i want him) keeps us as the powerfull ass one trick pony offense...  Big.. Powerful.. We have a generational QB, RB, WR..

add McCaffrey, its like our data base opens up from 50Gs to 250GS...

go up to Benji... Rush with Cam... dump it to McCaffrey...

the fug do you stop us?

    • Ppl want to trade Melo? Am I wrong for thinking that would be a bad idea?
    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
    • It's an interesting topic of conversation as sports evolves. I think ultimately it would lead to a number of small market franchises folding though. Especially in the NBA where there are so many bad teams that have been bad for years and years in some cases already. But as it stands I think athlete pay draft or no draft aside has reached a point where we can and should realistically ask should they make that much compared to the average person. Now college athletes is a different conversation but even that reaches a breaking point. But we could go down the rabbit hole on this even further into overall entertainment and talk about actors making absurd sums too. In the end I think in sports the powers that be won't allow these changes to even be considered because it opens the door for so many other variables. But who knows how long sports like football will realistically be around after people like us pass on. We're only just now learning about things like CTE which the league and the sport in general will only be able to run away from for so long. As far as the NBA goes my understanding is viewership has been steadily going down for a number of reasons but one crucial aspect is key players missing so many games. The NBA has to figure that out regardless. Especially when considering fans who pay to see these athletes compete in person. But hey I guess let's just try to appreciate what we've got while it still exists in this form eh?
