Must Read Books

After reading Tucker Max's "I hope they serve beer in H*ll" and actually enoying it, I punished myself by jabbing a spork in my eye socket and will be unable to read books for another 7 months which is when the scabs are supposed to fall off.

I figured you'd be suing him for stealing your life story by now!

On a serious note, I highly recommend "Playing for Pizza," by John Grisham. It's perfect for any football fan, or lover of Italian culture. It's also eerily appropriate for any Panthers fan right now.

It's about a quarterback who implodes so badly during a game that the only team that will take him is a minor league team in Italy (see what I mean about it being appropriate for Panthers fans?). A great, breezy read. Makes me hungry when I read it.

I just read that one...picked it up because I love John Grisham. This one is different from his legal thrillers but is a fun read. Good football story, plus, the food is amazing...at least his descriptions. Makes you want to catch a plane to Parma Italy.

In the vein of Hitchhikers guide - might I suggest anything by a fairly new author named Christopher Moore? My favorites are "Lamb" and "Fluke".

Also, if you've never read Kurt Vonnegut's "The Sirens of Titan", do so post haste.

Anything else by Orson Scott Card is great in my opinon, especially the rest of the Ender series. While it might get a little wordy, give Issac Asimov's Foundation series a try.
