NFL Draft Rumor: Scout Insider Says Carolina Likely To Pull Trigger If Fournette Falls To #6; Other Draft Rumors

The Bengals don't need Fournette.  They have two really good backs in their backfield. They need defensive help, maybe even offense. Besides AJ Green, who else do they have? They need to take Williams or Davis. Not Fournette.  Even if they leap frog us, that's fine. He'll be in the AFC.  I wouldn't want him in the NFC. Much less in the division. I see no problem in that. That means some other really good player will fall to us without having to spend draft picks.

Gio tore his ACL so he's a question mark until he does something positive and even before injury he wasn't all that. Jeremy Hill isn't all that. Bengals would definitely like Fournette.

Which is fine. We're not meeting them in the Super Bowl anytime soon. They have more holes to fill than us. Let them trade the farm to leap frog us. Keeps Fournette out of our conference and most importantly out of the division.

TRADE: For Fournette

Round 1, Pick 8

Round 2, Pick 40

Round 2, Pick 64 (from New England)

STILL HAVE AFTER TRADE:

Round 3, Pick 98 (compensatory pick)

Round 4, Pick 115

Round 5, Pick 152

Round 6, Pick 192

Round 7, Pick 233 (from Indianapolis through Cleveland)

SO WE CAN TRADE UP AND STILL HAVE MANY PICKS LEFT IN A DEEP DRAFT IF ITS SO DEEP GETTLEMAN IN DRAFTS NOT AS DEEP IN THE PAST STILL FOUND LATE ROUND GEMS SO WHY IN A DEEP DRAFT WOULDNT HE FIND LATE ROUND UDFA GEMS

So u want him and saying he will got top 5. So that's saying we are not getting him because we are not trading up.

Yeah we're trading up.

Our first and two seconds traded away still leaves us with hella picks in a hella deep draft so why the fug wouldnt we still get good players

Yeah I didn't get that as a possibility either, yet the Bengals really like Fournette. Rumors and snippings I'm hearing is that the Panthers and Bengals are in a tight race for him right now.

This is the highest Gettleman has ever picked with the Panthers. Based on his previous first round picks, picking 8 is a serious luxury for him

Exactly. When he's this close to a player he really wants you think if Fournette is #1 on his board and Gettleman has #8 he's going to let Fournette go at 3, 4 or 5? just before our pick ? no he's going to say Im already this high in the order might as well trade up a little farther to get the guy i really want

If we're only trading up two spots it won't be that expensive. At most it'd cost #40. Maybe just 64 and a late round pick.

True, unless there is another team that wants to trade up to that spot to do the same thing, then there becomes a bidding war.

    • I wouldn't be mad if we were losing by 1 or 2 and the games were hard hitting tightly contested games. I'd be frustrated and upset about losing, but I wouldn't be mad.    Right now I'm pissed, Rod's decision making, his system of play, the consistent bad results in the conference finals. Then the team comes out at home and gets plastered 10-2 in the first two games... Yeah I'm mad at the results on the ice
    • Man it’s not even about losing to the Panthers again, it’s how they are losing that makes me think a coaching change is needed. Florida is physical, got into the player’s heads, and it’s the coach’s job to get his players ready to play. Brindamour has failed miserably in the Conference Championship 3 times now. The Hurricanes look like they don’t even belong in the playoffs let alone in the conference championship game. If these games were close like in 2023 we’d be frustrated but not embarrassed and that’s the difference in a coach keeping or losing their job.
    • I got down voted to hell and came back from it up some. Think Reddit Canes started to see the light today. lmfao
