You seem to be unable to distinguish the reality of his running style being the instigator of missed tackles.

No need to bash Fournette to prop up McCaffrey. Its not an a or b decision as many fans seem to think it is. Many players at different positions are in play at 8 and if not then the whole BPA thing is complete BS.

If you are pleased with what Stewart does in our offense you will be much happier with what Fournette can do. 

I think McCaffrey is a talented player but I can't get on board with him being the pick at 8. I've just watched way too much of him and other top prospects to feel comfortable taking him over 8 other guys.

To me personally I assumed many on here really thought McCaffrey had a history of being a dangerous slot receiver. This thread was aimed at showing them he might be able to, but that's just a projection not something based off production. Anyone who has drawn a line in the sand and lost their ability to be objective can't be swayed anyway and that's ok.

McCaffery has stupid good footwork no false steps. His ability to stop and go/ change directions is amazing and his 3 cone time reflects that.

If we do end up with him (which I hope we do) he'll immediately become our best route runner. No doubt in my mind we could line him up as a WR when Stewart is in.

Re-Trace the steps of how we got here. P55 said he rarely goes down on first contact. That's untrue for any player. I was arguing that McCaffrey is not the exception to that rule. You posted gifs of him breaking weak tackle attempts. 

Ive complimented McCaffreys vision plenty and his ability to make defenders miss with his elusiveness. So yes when I refer to his vision and compliment it, I'm referring to his abilities to take good angles and make defenders miss. 

You are doing the classic exaggeration and assumption of what I said to prop him up. It's almost like you're doing it for show vs actually trying to help someone who you perceive to have a lower football IQ than you. If I'm wrong I apologize for being a hypocrite. If I'm right please adjust accordingly.

I like a lot of your post and appreciate the research you put into them. As you can clearly see, that's the kind of football talk I like to do as well. However I do my best not to belittle others, as after all it's just the Internet and we all want the best for our team. 

Ive had my mind changed on hardline stances I've taken in the past by well thought out post and points others have made and often admit and thank the person for correcting me. This however is not one of those cases. 

Youre welcome to respond but it's getting late and I'm not the type to go back and forth when it's become it's apparent it's a waste of time trying to see eye to eye on a  certain topic with one another. 

So no hard feelings on my end. Hope we can share thoughts again in another thread.

I've said as much before. People sometimes get a little carried away when someone does not share their exact thought's or opinion. Many good posters have scaled back or just quit posting all together because they get tired of dumb poo like that. 

Im making an assumption here that you made this smartass response because you're hopeful for pie.

Pro tip: make fun of Shula and you'll produce much better results. Make sure you go overboard with your hyperbolic criticism of him, for full effect.

I actually don't give a poo about pie. If you looked at my posting history, you would realize I went from being a regular poster to about five times a week (if that). This place is a fuging cesspool now for the most part.

I have no problem with him being ranked as one of the 10 best players in the draft.  He's a guy who can score TDs from the run, pass and return game.  Those are typically valuable, right?

If used appropriately, he can be a real asset and make you very happy with your pick.  If you try to shoe horn him into a system that doesn't play to his strengths, he'll fail.  

Is he better ranked than another player?  Sure or no way. It doesn't really matter.  In the NFL, a lot of a guys success depends on how the team uses them and the team built around them.

I think he could be a very good player and dangerous in the right scheme (probably not ours at least until we shake off the Shula shackles) but I don't think I've ever seen a college RB benefit more from an OL that opens holes you could drive a Mack truck through.  I've watched tons of breakdowns on all the major RBs this year and McCaffrey all game long has massive holes. Sometimes they're on the backside where he has to use his vision and cut back becaus defenses have to over commit to compensate for not being able to plug primary holes and that's a plus for McCaffrey, having the vision and agility to make those cut backs. But by and large he just has to scamper around in the secondary for most of his yards. Fournette never got anywhere near those running lanes.
