Thank God, I have zero interest in seeing this dude in black and blue.

I'd be cool with getting him at 40 if he fell there but otherwise, too early to take him. Trade down to 12, still not thrilled. Trade into back of first for him, no thanks.

This McC pre-draft hype stuff is insane. I see Denver getting him at 20, which is still very high for him. Before all this pre-draft hype he was looking like a early to mid 2nd rounder.

He blew up after the combine.  This is the case for at least one or two players every. single. year.  OBJ is a prime example, I remember around Jan or so we felt good about our chances to land him late in the first round.  Come draft day he was a lock to go in the top 16.  McCaffrey absolutely carried Stanford to a Rose Bowl where he made a great defense look lost.  Should have won the Heisman and it shouldn't have been close.  At the combine, teams saw he is far more than just a running back and a lot of the myths about him have become debunked.  That's why he's risen so much, he's earned it and should be picked in the top 10 imo.

In late February and early March after the combine, in the media McC was still considered a late first rounder, possible early rounder. The rise to top 10 consideration came well after the combine. McC has good agents.

No, he's just an incredible offensive weapon.  I read a scouting report on him that had one of his WEAKNESSES as "sometimes he pushes his teammates too hard."  The dude is more dangerous than anyone else in this draft in open field.  If he were to become a Panther, he would embody everything that is great about the Keep Pounding slogan and this franchise as a whole.  You want to evolve an offense?  He's the player you take.  Not Fournette.

    • Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.
    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
