McGinn's final draft. The only one that matters. Trubs at 1, Panthers get Fournette

This is the guy that talks to all the scouts about individual players.

1. CLEVELAND BROWNS: Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

Owner Jimmy Haslam intercedes at the 11th hour, deciding that a future with Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler is like none at all. He made a comparable move with Johnny Manziel (No. 22) in 2014.

8. CAROLINA PANTHERS: Leonard Fournette, RB, Louisiana State

The Panthers got a lot of mileage from Jonathan Stewart (13th pick, 2008) but he’s 30, entering his 10th year and nearing the end. Fournette gives GM Dave Gettleman all the speed he has been seeking.

We'd be very fortunate to stay at 8 and grab Fournette. After all the dust has settled Jacksonville remains our primary threat to him falling, but 1 QB could easily make a defensive player their pick.

I think its crazy he has Corey Davis lasting until 27. If the draft somehow played out like this to where we got Fournette at 8, I'd be all in on trading 40 and 64 to move up to get him.

Landing 2 of the best offensive weapons in the draft would go a long way towards "evolving" our offense.

There's a late forming *consensus* now that Trubisky will be the #1 pick to Cleveland. Incredible. If the Panthers were in that spot and chose Trubisky over Garrett (even with nothing in the QB cupboard), I would abandon the team until they got a new owner. That poo is ridiculous.

Most likely 2-3 QBs taken at top 15 with 1 WR going in top 10 !

Fournette drops to 8, Panthers move back up again and pick up OJ Howard or McCaffrey.

What have some of his looked like the last few years?

He was ranked the most accurate/second most accurate through 2016. I don't have the source anymore cuz it leads to a 404, but if you search "Jason Boris Mock Draft" youll see multiple reports where the is accredited with being one of the most accurate.

they don't matter, but they definitely kill time.

For sure, if you don't have much going on, it's easy stimulation/taking point.

People who lose there poo about mocks however, need to find other hobbies.

    • Redeemed ourselves with a solid middle to end the night....
    • This is spot on, with the first 5 years of a QBs contract being so pivotal, as it should, unless you have Pat Mahomes or the reincarnation of Tom Brady, stats shows once the qb gets paid, the teams Super Bowl chances shrink significantly  what we did to get Bryce was idiotic to say the least, not because of the player(not a Bryce endorsement) but because there’s a long history of proof, making big swings at qb, are usually big misses  find the identify, build around that, and go from there. Unfortunately we don’t have one, and neither the defense nor offense side of the ball are more than good at best
    • Seems like a loaded EDGE class. though I think we don't spend a premium pick there with Scourton/Princely showing production and potential.  Concepcion at 19 is intriguing and seen ARSB comps with his shiftiness, high IQ and YAC ability. He and TMac would be a nasty 1-2 combo at stretching a defense. Brenan Thompson could be that day 2 speedy/slot guy that could boost his draft stock in Mobile.  Sam Hecht could be a later selection for C depending on how we are planning to attack that position in FA and our own previous guys. Shelton from PSU is an interesting developmental tackle that if he can get locked into an NFL strength program and rock up, could be good down the road. Speaking of PSU, Dani Dennis Sutton was a guy last year I was big on and was bummed he headed back to Happy Valley. I think he can be a helluva NFL player, and if he can show improvement in his pass rush moves, I wouldn't be mad at him in a trade-back situation.
