Panthers still have the best defense in the division by a significant margin

I always try to be realistic here, and I'm kinda have to disagree even though I'm sure people will say I'm an idiot and not a real fan hoopla.  I stil think we have the best because of star power, but this Falcons D man.  Already have an elite pass rusher in Vic, then the inside of their line looks promising with Poe/Jarrett.  Plus drafted Takk so they'll have two speedy edge rushers now.  Linebacker crew is FAST too with Deion an emerging star and Duke Reilly.  Plus have a pro bowl corner in the secondary.  I'm just trying to be realistic, that Falcons defense is rapidly improving.  Quinn is building something there with fast athletes all across that defense

poo forgot about Keneau.  That defense is about to be a problem whether you guys like it or not, the good news is we are doing all the perfect things to combat it

I truly believe the Falcons are in for a Panthers-type hangover this season. Losing Shanahan is going to be WAY bigger than they think. You don't just lose the engine of your offense and bring in a drunk and there is no dropoff. Ok, you can say Sarkisian is going to keep the same offense and calls, but without your "main" guy calling the shots, it will not be nearly the same. And their defense is still suspect (did I mention they choked a 25 point lead in the superbowl?).

25th in yards, 27th in points allowed...

People began last year talking about Beasley being a bust. Was in perfect situation last year where he got to pin his ears back and rush the passer since the Falcons were up most of the time. Still garbage against the run.

People act like this is an elite defense. Could/will they be better this year? Possibility, but it is far from a given. They got to gamble and play with the lead most of last year. Take away the turnovers and they were simply not good. Neal is a big hitter, but he got toasted in coverage regularly. Truant is good- on that I will agree.

The rest of the defense is fast, but it's not like they were great. Our offense even last year moved the ball against them. So did most everyone else.

Dan Quinn is obviously a good motivator. He also oversaw an unprecedented meltdown due to hubris. He lost his OC and fired his DC.

Our Front Seven is far superior to the Falcons. That is not homerism by any stretch IMHO.

@FuFuLamePoo I'm sorry, did I see that correctly?

Did you really say the Falcons have a better defense than us?

I've never seen such laughable poo in my life. Beasley scares no one, and shut down twice when we played them. Takk is literally all motor and no pass rush moves at all.

Jarrett is a one game wonder so far, and Poe is washed up. His ceiling is being a Star-lite on that team, he just isn't as scary as he once was.

Our front seven consists of a solid rotation of DEs that can pressure the QB, with Addison and Peppers bringing true pass  rush skill. If you really thought Peps is back to ride the bench, you're as delusional as ever.

He was brought in to boost our pass rush. Ignore his age and watch his production. There's a reason he's had 7+ sacks every season except that one year he got hurt with us.

Our DTs are solid all throughout, with Love, Star, Butler, and Short all proven to be able to stuff the line and get to the QB when need be.

Panthers front seven is far superior

There's a huge difference between speed and skill. Our LBers are far better in coverage and skill than the Falcons could even dream.

Secondary, they just may have the edge, but we're not far behind. Mike Adams is a solid strong safety who hasn't played behind a real front seven, Kurt Coleman is back to his FS position where he led the league in interceptions in 2015, Bradberry's becoming more of a shutdown corner at this rate, and Worley is a solid #2 corner.

Falcons do not have a proven defense. We do. You're delusional if you think they're better than us whatsoever.
