RBs with the most broken tackles since 2015

Aside from the run he had against the Jags in the rain a few years back, I will always remember this run - JStew has incredible balance.

I just saw Trai Turners life flash before my eyes at the end there.

By cutting his workload, Stewart may be good for another 2 seasons.  At 30, do not expect what he has done over the past 2 years--RBs start declining (research supported) at age 27.  However, Stewart's running style makes him hard to bring down.

Its funny because i feel most of this fan base wrote him off this offseason.

Once some see this stat they will quickly turn that opinion around

I thought it was perfectly clear, once his contract was renegotiated, that Stewie wasn't going anywhere.  And that the reason the contract was renegotiated was because the team WANTED him to stay.

It used to be, back in the day, that the age of 30 was considered the year that RBs start becoming washed up and used up.

Stewie is 30, but his case is unique in that for all his years prior to that he was the primary RB only two of those years.  This has reduced his NFL pounding "wear and tear" over the years.  (If memory serves, he's never had an injury caused by another player, its just his damn ankles which have been a lingering problem for him since high school... oh, and last year he had a ham string).

The highest number of carries Stewie has ever had in a year is 242 in 2015.  In his 9 year career thus far, he's only had 200+ carries in a season 3 times.

Considering that most starting RBs over their years have almost or more than 300 carries in a season for years, except for his innate physical weakness (his ankles dammit), Stewie is still pretty "fresh" for an NFL starting RB.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
