If you disagree, go ahead and counter these @nctarheel0619.

@Cracka McNasty you might enjoy this twitter thread. Pretty informative.

Good evidence supporting the fact he isn't great at the deep ball.

However on at least 5 of those passes he was under pressure and throwing early from no help from the line. He still floated the ball like hell though.

Even though he wasn't really great in those highlights, it still illustrates the fact that he actually attempts to throw the ball downfield further than 5 yards or dump offs, something Alex Smith doesn't seem to be able to do. Smith seems to be TOO cautious with his throws. And let's not forget, Jeremy Maclin is the ONLY WR that has ever had a 1000 yard receiving season with Alex Smith as his QB.

I think Maclin is at worst a High end #2 receiver in this league but I personally think he's much better than that - although I am biased because the year he came back from his ACL tear I took a flier on him in the late rounds of my fantasy draft and the dude carried my WR corp single handedly to the ship.

I think he helps their team tremendously and Flacco and the ravens have a bounceback year.

I feel you. I picked up Russell Shepard in one of my fantasy drafts for a few weeks when I had guys on bye/Allen Robinson and he did not disappoint as my WR3.

I think you can tell why I like that kid so much right now.

I do think Maclin will have a better year with Flacco, but I do think he had better options to fully utilize his deep threat ability.

    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
    • I think the D performed well over the season considering it was put together with Scotch tape.
