btw trying out this banza pasta today, made with chickpeas and pea protein, says it has "double the protein, four times the fiber, and nearly half the net carbs" compared to regular pasta. macros are a good balance of protein/carbs instead of the huge carb overload in normal pasta. as long as the taste doesn't suck i'll be adding it to my normal meals

I am a big fan of whole wheat pasta. Have it a few times a week with a nice marinara.

I'm not as strict as @Jeremy Igo but one week in and I'm down 6 pounds. Ate a little steak last night for our anniversary dinner. No bread, no beer, drinking my coffee black, eating a hell of a lot more vegetables, no dairy. I am drinking a little liquor here and there because alcohol.

On your recommendation I decided to begin my natural plant diet this afternoon. I found this delicious looking plant growing on a tree in my back yard...didn't taste great so I wouldn't recommend it:

Good work. Stick with it.

Also, anyone trying this needs to either

a) stop washing their produce (not recommended)

or

b) take a b12 supplement. You can get them at any grocery dirt cheap.

I use this brand from amazon. Tastes like candy.

Animals get B12 from micro organisms in the soil and on plants. Meat has it because the animals you are eating at one point ate the micro organisms.

My new thing....try roasting tomatoes with garlic, basil, & oregano (I use romas)...add some grilled asparagus, eggplant, or zuchinni.  Toss with ww pasta.  Do not need sauce. Yum.

A similar-ish meal I often make in the summer is chopped uncooked tomatoes (big heirloom varieties or romas), deflamed red onions, basil, and mozzarella, all marinated in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, oregano optional.

Works best if you make your own mozzarella, which I would recommend if you haven't tried it.

Deflamed red onions?

Soak them in water - takes off some of the bite (appropriate in this case) and leaves them sweet and crisp, but still with some of that red onion shiggity shig.

"Deflamed" is a ridiculous word for "I put it in some water" but don't blame me for that one.

I'll have to give it a try, thanks.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
