That's cool.

I mean, if CAP gets cut it ain't gonna break my heart.  I've survived Lee Ziemba and Darvin Adams getting cut, I'm sure I'll make it through Cameron Artis-Payne the same.

Though the Panthers come first, I'm still gonna pull for CAP as an individual player wherever he goes.  I would just rather not see him get dicked out of a chance to make it on another team if he doesn't have a damn chance here (and early returns say he doesn't).

I don't think CAP will make it on another roster until midseason if he is released. The problem is that Fozzy is a scat back (read 3rd down back) and the result of that is his position is secure. McCaffrey will likely fill the traditional role of No.2 back while filling the non-traditional role of being brought in more often due to his versatility in the offense. The McCaffrey role and Samuel will allow the Panthers to run more no huddle offense as was done effectively in 2015 when the offense needed to get going.

CAP is a traditional 2 down back. For him, that means he will remain number 4 no matter how well he does in training camp.

I don't know about that.

A guy like Belichick is always looking for the next low-cost option to put into his backfield.  He churns through running backs like a kid through Halloween candy.  He's also shown a past affinity for Gettleman-selected running backs. :P

Maybe if he was a 5 year vet.

A rookie who altough tremendously is a very raw product at wide receiver most definitely needs the reps. Missing most of OTA's and training camp might set him back weeks when we get to real games... I am crossing my fingers that he gets healthy ASAP

Yeah, Samuel needs the reps if he wants to start, but they can still work him in to the line up. Besides, there is still a lot of reps to be had in this camp, if he can get back in there.

Is there an unofficial depth chart somewhere? Since apparently Panthers.com isn't putting one up in the offseason or something.

QB - Cam, Anderson, Webb

RB - Stew, Calf, Fozzy

FB - Armah

TE - Olsen, Dickson, Simonsin

RT - Williams

RG - Turner

C - Kalil, R.

LG - Norwell

LT - Kalil, M

WR - Benjamin, Funchess, Samuel, Shep, Duke (in no particular order)

DE - Johnson, Peppers, Hall, Addison (in not particular order)

DT - Can't remember everyone

LB - Kuechly, Davis, Shaq, Mayo not sure beyond that

CB - Bradberry, Williams, Worley, Munnerlyn

Safety - Adams, Coleman, Marlowe

Incomplete but my guess, with some positions in no particular order

You failed to read the guy who actually provided statistics while comment on the guy who provided fake statistics; I like your style.

It's also possible I didn't base my comment on either of your statistics, but rather the two years of play I've seen. I'm just not impressed. That's my opinion.

It seems to me that BB will be waiting for a power back. They already have guys that can do everything CAP can do but better and with more versatility. Maybe the Bucs could use him to back-up Martin for his inevitable suspension/benching for whining/poor performance.

    • Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .
    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
