Preseason Football: August Madness

4 games?  I get that we have to set rosters, etc., but with injuries, etc., are they worth it?  Colleges don't have a preseason.  We like those games, and they have 100 players all year.  I get the revenue end--the owners charge the same for a practice game as they do for a regular season game, but this is ridiculous.  (I think they used to have 6!)

Every year, we endure the tease of the preseason.  We pray our star players do not get injured.  We cheer for guys who will be trying to sell us cars and bagging our groceries in a few weeks.   I am so happy this crap is behind us.  I know, we get to see competitions--but that is just what we do to pass the time and overcome the monotony of a game where the highlight is a Brandon Weeden pass to some unknown player from a Nebraska welding college. 

Does anyone like the 4-game preseason?

This comes up every year but the young players need these games. No matter how hard you go in practice, it's just not the same.

Geoff Schwartz said a few weeks ago, that he needed roughly 2 preseason games to get into the game speed. So take that for what it's worth.

I hate it.  Every year, I watch the Panthers last preseason game on my phone and watch a real college football game on tv instead.

On the plus side, tomorrow is the first Saturday college fb buffet of the year.  It's a holiday at my house.
