There are many things I notice when I photograph the Panthers on game day. While the action produces images that excite fans, I like to chase the moments.

This is my fifth season with the Panthers and while the roster changes from season to season, I've become quite familiar with many of the players’ habits and tendencies, mostly by observing them through my lens.

A new addition to this season’s roster, to the delight of many fans, was defensive end Julius Peppersicon-article-link.gif. I was told he was “freakishly” big, kept mostly to himself and regularly avoided the media. All that made me assume it would be difficult to capture good moments outside of action shots. Never assume.

I hope he has a couple of years left.  I know he is up there in age but he is such a fine tuned athlete I don't see why he couldn't go another year or two more.  Especially if we can bring home a Lombardi Trophy while he is playing.  His HOF credentials are more than enough to get him in.  With a Lombardi Trophy he would be unanimous.

      Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.

      13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion.       Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
