Stout Defense

I know lot of doom and gloom but i want to give a big praise to the defense!

Here are few listings through 2 games

#1 in ypg with 196.5

#3 in pass ypg given up, 6th in rush ypg given up, tied 6th for sacks

and to me maybe most impressive stat 1 of 6 for 4th down attempts give up.

also stats of note we are tied 5th in penalties and at 0 with turnover differential.

Is that only after the 1st game?  SF went 1 for 4 on 4th just last week.  This week I know we stopped two 4th down attempts (one mid game, one at the end of the game) and gave up none.

Would like to see the defense coming up with more turnovers...but that's just being nitpicky as hell with the way they've played so far.

No i agree as well. We seem to get pressure but no turnovers. I think it is side effect of wilks defense. Less turnovers but more aggressive and more stability.

It is more likely we played two teams who stuck to the run despite being behind. Playing more aggressive offenses will lead to more turnovers.

it is a great defense and if we can get Worley to play in the same zipcode as his receiver is we'll do even better.

This is my first negative comment on Worley but he was playing so far off the receiver my freaking grandmother (whose been dead over 20 yrs) could get open on Worley.    Good God they almost came back on us because of his super soft coverage.

This game reminded me of 4 years ago in Buffalo.  We had the game till the last freaking play and blew it.   If that pass to Zay Jones was a 1/2 inch shorter and we are looking at first and goal with Tyrod Taylor scrambling to beat us.  Deja Vu all over again.
