Would you have supported him if he took a knee during the anthem?

I don't care about any of that poo. But I do think it's best when teams focus on the task at hand, and keep the outside noise to a minimum, as does every coach in every sport ever.

But nice try to bait me into some sort of controversy. You are a joke.

No bait whatsoever. It'a a simple question that only requires a yes or no answer.

The hostility in your response is unnecessary and a direct reflection on just why players are choosing to take a knee.

You're better than this dude.

No that was a bait. Enough of that.

This thread had nothing to do with taking a knee or pregame protest. It is respecting Cam for his choice to do it.

You know why you asked me that question big dog, and my response was valid because of it. I don't care about anyone taking a knee. But from a football perspective as a fan, I think it is better for the team I root for to minimize outside distractions. If you genuinely meant nothing by the question, then I apologize, but you and I have a TB history that I'm really not in the mood to have that spill over to the main forum.

Cam deserves respect for what he does on the field regardless of which method he chooses. That's the point. Otherwise you guys are no different than people like the Titan's fan that wrote an angry letter about him celebrating.

Why do you think they had a team meeting this week?

Cam has given this franchise and it's fanbase everything he has. He has earned the right to choose whatever method he chooses to make his voice heard.

If you don't care about anyone taking a knee, then why were you so quick to immediately be combative over a basic question?

We've had a few brief interactions in the tinderbox, but each time I gave you the courtesy of listening to your viewpoint bro.

I agree about minimizing distractions in general, but at some point as a man, these guys have to show something. We aren't talking about an inconsequential issue though. We are talking about very real American issues that have been holding us back for decades upon decades. You can't expect these players to not address it at all when their president literally calls them sons of bitches.

I'll leave the TB in the TB. Right now I'm just speaking as one Panthers fan to another.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
