The Myth of the Ball control offense

Ball control offense definitely isn't a myth, and it can indeed be effective.

That said, the question I've asked before is this:

Would you really plan to build a ball control offense around a quarterback like Cam Newton?

Ball control offenses are run by game manager quarterbacks.  Does anyone see Newton as a game manager?

I'm curious if they are trying to refine that side of his game?

Shorter throws, out of his hands quickly...we seem to be grasping at some West Coast and EP style pieces, but not forgetting who we/Cam is/are.

But the answer is no, you want a Norv Turner style offense in place when you have a QB like Cam....in his prime.

It'd make sense to try to refine that part of his game as he gets older and his physicality breaks down, but I'm honestly not sure it's going to work.

Yea, it's almost like Cam is saying to himself.....fine, I'll throw it for 6 yards.

I am glad that we are at least pushing to get better at those throws though...I've long said, that if Cam can ever master the short stuff, and get his mechanics right, he would be almost impossible to stop...Rodgers like.

I don't know if it's going to work either, but don't sell Cam short. I think that he may just be more shrewd than people give him credit for. I know that it's simply just a feeling. But, I was very frustrated and the needle was moving torward writing Cam off as career Panthers QB, and then he puts up arguably his best two games of his career.

All i know is when I play madden i score as fast and as often as I can and when I do that, I win almost every time...

I would legitimatly and seriously be interested in seeing the correlation between coaches who "protect" their lead against coaches who score as often and as frequent as possible, even with a lead..

has that ever bit a team in the ass? When? How often has prevent defense and run ball O resulted in a comeback?
