Charlotte accused of having one of NFL’s ‘weakest fan bases.’

I would be mad but this is coming from Atlanta. The hockey team moved, the Braves and Hawks literally get handfuls of fans for most games, and Falcons fans only show when they win.

Correction my friend.  They lost two hockey teams.  The Flames booked to Calgary long ago.

This is the south, home of CFB fanatics and transplants.  Coupled with NFL fatigue, awesome high tech experience at home and/or bar, I think stadiums will ultimately become home to several 1000s of hardcore fans and novelty for weekend excursions for those with mild interests in the game.  People blame the protest, etc for lower ratings but to me it's a substandard product due to CTE and other rule changes.  I don't see ratings improving because the rule changes were needed as players have gotten bigger and faster resulting in more injuries.  The QB is at more risk than ever.

Charlotte is the model for the futuristic NFL stadium product in my opinion.  In 20-30 years, wouldn't be surprised if they just used artificial fan noise with projected holograms to create a stadium experience for players.

Duh, it's literally the only place I've been to a game where a bunch of tards in cargo shorts, flip flops, and button ups tell everyone to sit down they are trying to sip their wine in peace and don't need no fans cheering and blocking the way.

Tame city, timid fans. I agree 100%.

How are Hornets games? Haven't been in ages.

Hell, half the Tar Heels b-ball fans are in khakis.

Uh *sips wine* excuse me sir, sir, sir....could you please sit down. Some of us are trying to enjoy the weather. Hard to get sun with you cheering and watching the game.

Atlanta fans are pretty fairweather, mainly due to their lack of success in any sport for the last 30+ years. Doesn't change the fact that Panthers fans in general are pretty terrible. Can't keep opposing fan bases out of the Bank, hate on the franchise QB for questionable reasons, generally uninformed about football.

That poo is spot on. Our fan base sucks. We haven't had one game this year where the seats were full. If there weren't so many opposing fans in our stadium it would only be about 60% full most Sundays. Bills, Eagles, Packers, Dolphins, Vikings have and will dominate our joint. Truth hurts sometimes but our in-stadium fan base is one of the six worst in the NFL behind LA, Tampa, Jax, ATL, and Miami.

I'm at the point now where I just accept the fact that I'm going to have to deal with a bunch of assholes in opposing jerseys when I'm in my seats at B of A.  It sucks ass but I've accepted defending my home turf on my own.  It's not going to get better unless we have a magical season once every decade like in 2015.  And then it'll be short lived because this city is full of jack wagons that enjoy ripping on the Panthers and Hornets.

Season ticket holder for 15 years, don't agree

All the people complaining,  go to Ticketmaster, get a cheap ticket, and get your ass to the stadium

Only this forum would agree with an outsider throwing shade

We can say what we want about each other but some dumb poo from Atlanta, nope

Yea I'm a PSL owner myself and I see it every game. Our stadium has a plethora of empty seats and an exorbitant amount of opposing fans.

I live in Richmond Virginia and travel every year to a game in BOA. I almost always sit in section 503 and have a great time each game, and have never experienced the “wine and cheese” bullshit trope I read here all the time. It’s a damn fine stadium, with a generally raucous crowd. The only issue I see is that once you stray from the Carolinas it’s not exactly a huge fan base. But to call it a lousy fan base is hyperbole, especially coming from fans located in Art’s fake-crowd-noise filled Anus.
