Andy Benoit on Panthers/Jets

Butler did have a nice game that awful penalty nowithstanding.

The Jets were using a lot of max protection, though, and our secondary was awful even with only a few guys running routes.  Some of their plays looked like us back in 2015 as far as throwing down the field.  The secondary was even worse when you consider we did a good job against the run.

None of them played great, with even Bradberry and Coleman looking below average.  I hope we get it cleaned up for next week.

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
