Also, what facts/stats did he provide?

He posted a table from our history and only 4 games were in the Newton Rivera era. In 2011 and 2012 at that, just LOL.

He mentioned one in recent history. 1.  He got embarrassed with that one.

To be fair, I've been debating with this dude all weekend which was more than enough time to realize providing facts and statistics are not his strong suit

Feel free to read my post above. That KC game was lost by screwing up a chance to put KC away.

Also, love the wins this year but we are 6-1 (7-1 if you count the Jets 8 point win) in one score games. We were 2-6 last year. Just one play like a Theilin drop or Zay Jones miss or a Julio worst drop ever or heck a FG who doesn’t miss.

Stop acting like we haven’t often put ourselves in a position to potentially lose games this year. Our luck has been way better this year and I’d also say our play has allowed us some luck.

Just look at the Minnesota game. We went 5 possessions up 11 with 1 first down and one turnover. We do that when we get leads. While our D finally stepped up, we still gave the Vikings the ball down 7 with plenty of time to tie. Same with GB, a game we should have put away but yet we needed a strip right in front of our red zone to stop GB from tying the game.

Good teams stay in football games man. I don't care who you are, if you are playing a qaulity team they will stay in the game to the end. Sh!t look at the Steelers game, patriots looked defeated TWICE in the fourth quarter and still won.

I applaud the fact that we were able to close the pats out. That's what the focus should be, not giving up leads, but holding onto them. Every game we won by 7 or less was a quality opponent, and we won (except against the Eagles).

You are trying to spin this to win an argument that realistically is only with yourself. Why you are trying to convince yourself the Panthers are not playing quality football this year is beyond me. It really takes some sort of disease to think the way you are thinking. I sincerely think you should talk to someone, especially if this is your perception of life.

Go Panthers, keep up the resilience.

Yeah it is a problem when we're up by 21 and end up winning by 3.

@Porn Shop Clerk Let me ask you this.... Hypothetical.... we go to the Super Bowl.... we are up 18 in the 4th, and win by 1

How do you feel? Frustrated that we didn't win by the 18? In your mind did we lose?

I seriously would like an answer from you on this. Before you submit it... read your answer out loud to yourself.

Agreed.

This staff leaves way to much up to chance. If Diggs doesn’t allow that ball to bounce off his hands and up into the air who knows the outcome (Diggs does that once every 100 times).

Everyone knew the Packers game was far from over as well.

Now although we’ve managed to escape these games with a W, you’re not going to be so lucky one day. You can’t rely on getting the lucky bounces 4 straight games in a row to win a SuperBowl.

As we saw in Chicago, one bad bounce and apparently it’s too much to overcome. The staff leaves way too much up to chance and you’re asking to get burnt that way.

You didn’t read my post. You missed that I mentioned our play has also lead to us winning some of the close games, but there’s no way objectively that you can say that our coaching doesn’t also put us in tough spots. Is letting Julio drop a wide open TD a defensive stop or just dumb luck? Bradberry stripping a WR right in front of our red zone to win a game is a great play but not something you can count on in the playoffs although that was a lucky bounce for GB to even have a chance. Same with a great 3rd down catch to keep Stafford from getting one more possession after he was schooling our D coming back. One more aggressive drive/good play call and none of those plays matter. The last Vikings drive which could have tied the game was a great example of not playing scared. Defense scared and Thielin runs through our prevent D like Swiss cheese. D not scared and we pummel Keenum into submission.

Also, my main point was on that KC game. Blaming KB because he’s an easy target since he’s not on the team, but that was one of our not playing situations correct and not being great at time management. Alex Smith isn’t going to throw 3 TDs (and he didn’t), so you make sure that you go up 17 early in the 4th and eat up some more time. You don’t pass your way out of  sealing the game. Even with no gains and a 37 yard FG we are still winning if Berry still gets a pick 6.

We are playing well (Gano especially) and even Shula has been amazing at times. It’s just tough to watch us look unstoppable at times and then watch us step off the gas and give teams the opportunity to win. Buffalo, Atlanta, GB, Minnesota and Detroit all had chances even though we looked dominant at times and then let them live. Heck, I won’t even mention the non QB sneaks against Philly to lose our chance to steal that win.

I hope we keep playing well and I just hope our coaches learn from the luck and the close shaves to realize that we have to put teams away in the playoffs. There are a lot of good teams in the NFC this year.

Listen brother, I don't know if you realize this but you defending speculation with counter speculation. You are adding "ifs" to your argument. We are not. We are taking what we saw and understanding that we have the talent on the field that wins football games. When the D needs to O to save their ass, they do. When the O needs the D to save their ass, they do.

Speculation vs. Speculation is like chasing your tail.... going nowhere but in circles. I apologize, but you argument has no ground to it. Don't get dizzy.

Also, I read your post and replied to this:

Seriously? That’s the dumbest question ever. Of course we’d all be ecstatic because that’s the last game. I can’t put words in his mouth, but while I’m always happy we win, I get frustrated when we almost lose until we win. A win is all that counts, but we haven’t won a SB yet so we see those close wins (some I might call a lucky win like Atlanta) as problematic if they coach the same way against the Rams who have the firepower to complete a comeback.

Make sense?

The point I am making is that the W is a concrete conclusion. Your speculation of "they ALMOST blew it" is a waste, because you have zero tangibility to the assumption. It doesn't matter how it happens in the 60 minute game of football, but what happened when the clock reached 0.

Pessimism is a bitch, and so is griping about sh!t that didnt happen....

I already see the outcome. For two weeks this board does nothing but smile ear to ear, praises the coaching staff and players and can't say a bad word. High fives all around.

Two weeks later someone starts the thread: We were lucky to win the Super Bowl. Ron and Shula almost lost us the game with his conservative playcalling. They have to go.

4 weeks later Sanjay posts: If we ever want another shot at winning the super bowl again then we have to draft a TE in the first round. It's literally the only chance we have to get back to the big one

xD

You're comparing a close loss or win to another Superbowl Caliber team to a close loss or win where we blew a lead to a team like the 2017 Chicago Bears.
